season review DVD / Blu-Ray - end of an era

I'm just passing along what someone said on Reddit:

      Quote
Hi guys. Bad news for anyone who collected the yearly season review such as myself.

Contacted PDI media who said the club decided against making one this year.

In this time where there is so much talk of media preservation and the importance of home video, this is a very poor decision from the club. I know some will say the highlights are on YouTube but it's only a matter of time until they are one day removed and the season gets lost to time.

I've contacted the club about producing a limited number of season reviews for us collectors and am hoping anyone who feels the same gets in touch with them in the next few days and hopefully we can change this.

I hate how the world changes. I'm getting old.

Big physical media collector myself, just went & picked up a load of 4K's etc from Black Friday sales.

I've not kept up on the season review DVD's like I used to unfortunately, so I may be part of the problem - always intended to do a mass purchase at some point/make an effort to pick them up in parts if need be, so I would be disappointed if it has stopped for good.

Currently watching some sports highlights on YouTube & being assaulted by ads constantly, I'd much rather pop a disc in for an hour or two.

A little surprising the club haven't made one - even if only for their own youtube channel...

or that some of the more talented youtubers out there haven't done one themselves (as it'd likely be popular).

This guy did a decent go at it:-

You can understand the logic of not producing a DVD but I entirely agree that a 'review' should be made for every season.  People can then burn it to DVD or whatever.

Sadly, people now have the attention span of a baby hence the reason we have 180 second highlights on Youtube. The whole thing is grim.

I don't think it is beyond the ability of the hundreds of staff LFC have to produce a decent 90 minute review of a full season. It might even make the theft that is the membership cost more palatable?
