Brilliant cameo by Jota. Genuine fox in the box. Have to feed him even if he's in tight positions. If you have a slippery customer you have to give him opportunities to actually be 'slippery'. Slip it through to him and let him do his thing.

Could be the diff between Ist and 2nd when the pts are totted up.

Lineker claiming it was never a red as the ball was knocked square and highly debateable whether Wilson would've got to it before VVD could make a challenge. Fair point...mayby..maybe not. Two biggest decisions......Robbo red and Gomez taken out in the area went against

It's a good point he kicks the ball across.which means he would need fo change direction to goal . Other striker.presume Jimenez may have been more of a beneficiary but certainly not as clear cut as what some.said.The shithouse tackle.from.Pearira when ball was miles.off was a.shocker

That's what I said. Debateable it fits the definition of a red card as it wasn't moving towards the goal.

I agree on the Trent front. He should be busting a gut to defend. He's a local lad obviously. Not going to claim he owes the club everything. Could say he's never been an intensive defender but at the minute it looks as if he gone too far the other way.

Again could say it's his passing that gets him the shirt but I'd say if he's not a good enough defender then he's out. Not at that point yet but has to improve.
watch him in an interview, takes ages to answer questions, no urgency by nature, never  a defender, but not a midfielder either, just a great passer

Not sure where the ball ends up has much bearing on the card. In similar circumstances you often see the ball about to run out of play or not go towards goal and a red is still given. He was last man and was clobbered, that's usually all they focus on. It looked a stone wall red.

Both our full backs and Quansah when he came on had a mare. The rest of them did fantastic to salvage something as you cannot have three players in the back line play like that and expect much. Quansah is a far better player than he is showing (his header to give away a corner to break the momentum just after Jota scored summed up where his head is at). He is destined to be a quality player for us but right now he looks iffy.

Elliott as a sub, I know he wants to be staring games but what a weapon to have from the bench. 9 times out of 10 he is great when he comes on. It's like having watched the game he can then see what needs to happen, and who needs to go where (pointing where players should be), just a clever player. And Jota, nice to have another clinical foward fit.

Defensively we are suspect without Konate (who also aids Trent on that side), while Bradley also aids us too as a far more rounded right back than Trent. Tsimikas maybe deserves a run now too (although ideally we'd bring in someone better) as Robbo just looks old with too many errors.

Second half of the game for anyone who missed it:

Their two goals were lucky, played with 10 men and coming twice from behind is good in this circumstance.

Grab the point and move forward.

Itā€™s a sad day folks, once again particularly this season weā€™re witnessing the decline of Robbo, heā€™s simply just too slow now, when he got clobbered I thought immediately heā€™s off, and in hindsight wish he had, not injured obviously but precautionary, letā€™s get one thing straight, his tackle on Harry was a Red clear as mud, if someone had done the same to Mo weā€™d expect a red, except that it wouldnā€™t have been cos Robbo wouldnā€™t have been there and weā€™d still have ten outfield players playing, and why wasnā€™t Diop showing a red on that tackle o Robbo??

Fulham are a very good side, they deserved their early lead, we were once again slow off the blocks and took our time being properly involved, it took Robboā€™s Red to set us on fire, but F**k me what a inferno with Ten menā€¦. Let me say this right nowā€¦Ryan Gravenberch is world f***in classā€¦. What a player he isā€¦ he shone in maybe two or three positions and was absolutely immense in everything he doneā€¦ thought Szloboslai had his best game for us too and was brilliant, ran his wee Hungarian legs off he did superb performance,
Desmond(2-2) is a fair result given we were fu**ed over again by the ineptitude of the officials, Cootesā€™s mate Attwell obviously had it it in for us the moment Diop clobbered Robbo, the amount of yellow cards dished out by him for us daring to win any challenge was disgraceful, Gomez being assaulted resulting in FK for them ffs, where the F**k was VAR then , Arne even seen yellow ffs and heā€™s the calmest man this side of the  Andromeda Universe, tells you a lot that !!

Weā€™ve still only lost one, weā€™re still top of the f***in shop, Arse didnā€™t gain anything on us and even if Chavs do weā€™ll still be top, we have 98% of our squad back and we are showing just how good we are when we need it, still not yet at our best but itā€™s coming!!

Because for this type of red card, where the ball ends up is critical.

Lineker explained it well. Shame they didn't highlight the 2 red cards that Fulham should have had though. Expect an apology from Webb a few weeks down the line to explain their 'mistake' to cover for more dodgy officiating. Whole game was a joke from start to finish.

Really good point made on Match of the Day. Ref letā€™s play go on and Jimenez misses the opportunity, then the ref goes back to give a red. So there is no denial of a goal scoring opportunity, they have the opportunity, miss it then the ref gives the red card. That canā€™t be right.

Itā€™s like when Salah was taken down by the last man against Newcastle, only difference being Nunez went on to score. So if Jimenez had scored, presumably there would have been no red? Donā€™t think it should make a difference, you either give the red straight away or not at all.

Ref was a newbie. I thought we should have had a pen for a foul on Gomez tbh but nobody seems to be talking about it. Haven't seen the 2 challenges on Grav and Robbo. Thought the red the player took a bad touch away from goal before Robbo took him out but he was last man and I guess the refs decision on field stood.

It certainly was very poor from Andy either way.

      So watched highlights this  morning

The tackle on Robbo by Diop - late and studs on the knee - how isnā€™t that a red

Robbo sending off - when I saw it happen it looked cut and dry a red

But I thought the rule was ā€œDenying a clear goal scoring opportunityā€ - Wilson wasnā€™t getting to the ball , Jiminez was and he had a shot - so they had a clear goal scoring opportunity 🤷ā€ā™‚ļø - so why a red but can see why the ref gave it

Overall with 10 men it was a great game and good point

Gomez wasnā€™t even involved in play, donā€™t think a penalty can be given for that. To me, it just seemed like a collision, their man tried to block the shot and Gomez happened to be running that way. Looks bad yeah but would have been surprised if anything was given for that.

Lads we'll drop points here and there the rest of the season, it's one of those years I think. Just need to keep ahead of the pack

We played well as a ten man side and Gravenberch was immense ! gave his all and superb all game , Mo missed a couple of chances ,noticeably the one where Szobo put him through and looks like  he needs a rest for a game ,possibly Chiesa to play in that position for a game ,he is a world cup player after all , realistically I think we need to be in the market for a couple of full-backs to replace Robbo and Trent ,Robbo has been a great player but for me just not up to it , Trent seems content in strolling around with his mind elsewhere ,great passer of the ball but as a defender not good enough . Liked the subs of Elliot ,Jota and Nunez and they worked really hard and suddenly we are an attacking force again . Arne's tactics are working well and he deserves a shout or two

Suppose if we're having a whinge about the red card one of the criteria in ' denying goal scoring opportunity' is the direction of play.

Law 12.........1.Distance between goal and offence. 2. General direction of play.3. Likelihood of keeping or gaining control of the ball.4.Location and number of players.

...No.1.4 yards outside the 18 yard box..22 yards..... No.2. Wilson was running goalward but cut across to challenge meaning at the point of the foul he was sort of in line with the corner flag..... No.3. Wilson did not have control of the ball, was he likely to gain control, the ball ran free but could claim he was likely to gain control..........No. 4. VVD was 5 yards away at point of foul and was in ball contention within 1 second.

Main issue though was No2..Direction of play and No.3 Was Wilson going to get full control. Both are questionable.

So we have a case but do we have enough. VAR could've easily ruled in our favour and given a red significantly affects the result mayby we should've been given the benefit of the doubt. Certainly not an open & shut red card offence. But we've had far worse decisions go against us.

There see Didn't mention Coote once.

Robbo sadly mate isnā€™t gonna get any quicker, we canā€™t afford to NOT find a replacement, and preferably while Robbo is still here, Kostas bless him tries but heā€™s not quite the standard we need, I like the lad Kerkez from Bā€™Mouth heā€™s 22 and like a Robbo clone, Alphonso Davies (BayernM) should be on our radar too but heā€™s more likely to be heading for Spain, heā€™s 24 but in terms of quality heā€™s up there, can also play in midfield, the lad Robinson from yesterday was impressive and worth having a look at,

Thereā€™s still life in Robbo donā€™t get me wrong but itā€™s clear to me heā€™s on the decline, at 30 he falls into that typical ā€˜Over 30ā€™sā€™ yer fu**ed club and time is running out, donā€™t see him as our go to LB next season unfortunately!!

Why Kerkez I hear you whisper, the connection is Richard Hughes who was at Bā€™Mouth and Iā€™m sure Kerkez worked under Arne in Holland with I believe AZ Alkmaar, donā€™t quote me on that 😁, but it seems all the stars align on this particular player, so watch this space ??

He also happens to be Hungarian which is handy, Szlobos can be his mentor so heā€™ll settle in quicker too, see, more stars aligning  xxxxx:action-smiley-065:
