There's been some great names in the PL for over 3 decades now..... but, surely it's time for Mo to be mentioned as top PL dog now....
His stats and injury records  are insane. He's an absolute beast mode machine and we love him... XxXX

Mo is definitely right up there among the very best.

Think it's still a toss up between Mo and Gerrard for the best PL player for us.

Carragher had Mo second after Henry in the greatest PL forwards list, and I'd probably agree with that. What he has done as a wide player is astonishing. Goal after goal, and over 100 assists. It's the consistency. C.Ronaldo only really started to show his best in the last couple of seasons with Man U before going even higher at Madrid, so him third is about right.

Think where Henry edges it over Mo (and it's close which is to Mo's credit as Henry was only second to Ronaldinho as the best player on the planet for a couple of years, circa '02 to '04) is that Henry never looked scruffy with the ball, whereas Mo could look scruffy one minute and then the next minute be utterly sublime. Don't think I've ever seen a player like Mo in this regard.  More often than not Mo is amazing, but Henry was close to amazing every time. Henry it didn't matter if he was barely moving or running at full tilt he always looked smooth with the ball at his feet. He could have played in a three piece suit.

Just after the minute mark, that's Javier Zanetti he has left for dead.

Depends on what stats you want to use or if going by feeling etc

For many Henry is prob the greatest that’s been seen in the prem and on ability wise it hard to argue

If looking at pure stats then Shearer is up there

Mo is certainly in the conversation

Many still have Gerrard as better than him

For me it’s Henry, legit the most talented player I’ve seen. In his prime, you gotta remember he was getting combined 40-42 goals and assist per year but his pure ability was unreal. I genuinely feel, if he was more selfish like Ronaldo, he could have gone down better than him

I can only go buy what I have seen, for me

      Ronaldo
      Henry

And then maybe Salah but if he has another exceptional two years, who knows I guess

Something you gotta remember is Henry changed what we view as a greater striker

They used to just be goal scorers but Henry proves you can do so much more, he changed football

First point I want to add is Mo Salah is not  Striker per se, he’s a winger who scores a sh*t load of goals and of course supplies plenty of assists, Terry Henry(sorry) always called him that, was a world class striker and as mentioned above was silky smooth, CR7 has to be in the mix too although he too was a winger, and not a striker as with Mo,

I just Googled ‘Highest scorer’ in premier league…….

      Shearer…260
      Kane.  ….213
      Rooney….208
      A Cole  …187
      Aguero …184
      Lampard..177
      Henry  ….175
      Salah. …..172……

Can we categorise Mo as a striker, it seems he is regarded as since he’s listed, however we have to consider the changes in modern football to that when the likes of Shearer, Henry, Cole we’re banging them in, so I guess it depends on what the individual player was employed as, back then he’d be called a striker now it’s a Forward, anyhoo, whatever they’re called it’s all about sticking it in the onion bag and Mo, record breaking Mo Salah, quite rightly is up there with the very best there has ever been,

As for best player ever in the EPL, Henry, CR7, Gerrard, Bergkamp, Salah, ….

      He's not a striker though, and I don't just mean he's not a typical No 9.
He's a wide forward. His numbers for a wide forward are unmatched.
It's insane that he's only 3 off Henry. He'll pass Henry and Lampard this season and
then the only players above him will be out and out strikers.

Probably discrediting him as a striker/ false  No 9 mate. The fact he’s done it  relentlessly off the flanks gives him more stature for his goals & assists  don’t you think ?

No discretion from me mate, and of course he is deserving of even more credit as you have alluded to, he is a phenomenon, you can’t buy what he has, and like a fine wine seems to be getting better by age !!

Gerrard and Henry are 1 and 2 for me, although can't decide in which order. After that, Mo is in the running for 3rd, along with a few others - Ronaldo, Giggs (fraid so, longevity being a factor), Viera...

Looking at those goal stats, it's sensational the amount of goals Frank Lampard scored for a midfielder. One of the all time great goal scoring midfielders.

Like many here, Henry was the benchmark and still is in many ways. He alone did more than any other player to supercharge the Premier League as the best, most entertaining league in the world. And for the football purists, many will say that Arsenal team he was a part of remains the ultimate Premier League side. We all dreamed of having him in a Liverpool strip didn't we (along with Bergkamp).

From the Mancs, comes a personal favourite - Roy Keane. He's the captain I'd want everyday in that his selflessness and ability to take the pressure off his team mates and onto his shoulders was proper on field leadership.

And Shearer. Good lord. Another player I would have dreamed of seeing at Anfield. Aside from Blackburn he never came close to playing in the best team of his era yet scored all those sensational goals.

Henry, Bergkamp, Keane and Shearer. The 4 gems I would have given my right arm to see play for Liverpool. Absolutely sensational and the fact we're talking about Mo in the same debate as them all shows how incredible he is.

I often discuss the greatness of players and marvel them long after they've departed often with regret that we never quite payed the same level of homage when they were actually playing for us. So it's great to see us talk about Mo in this way right now.

The few of us are bonkers that think like that. I mean a nutter on hear that loves VAR. On every forum you will get a few weardos.  FFS Fsg love money even they didn't get involved when 150m was put on the table.  This guy hasn't finished he is in the conversation now, has to be and when he puts his boots up he will be engraved in history.  Sensational machine keeps going once a week, twice a week, 3 games in a week, season in season out.

Honestly can't understand why it is best footballer not best attacker/best midfielder/best defender/keeper.
Henry, Ronaldo, Salah will never be a better defender than Van Dijk, as for example so I don't get it.
And before people tell me it's my problem I'm better say here it's my problem I can't understand this logic so end of story :D

Mate I am with you 100%.  Virgil is an absolute unbelievable player and when defenders are mentioned his name has to be in the conversation at any level.  I think too that it should be GK, CB, FB, DM, AM, Wide Forward, Striker.   I really think you should have these categories for awards may be you take the wide forward out and put just forward or even add CM in there too.  But players like VVD get swindled because like you say they go for about 2 season having the best forwards of their generations in their back pocket when face to face yet the same players are there getting all the plaudits.

      Forwards always get the highlights

It’s why VVD winning the PFA Player of the year was massive

But there is no doubt that he is imo the best CB I have seen in the league
