Yes Ibou could have been stronger but that ball was placed over Virg and possibly where Tzimikas could cover if he hadn't been flattened  so.was covering them.two and still.ended up goalside but Virg sucked in and didn't go with the runner until to late.

I think it's about time we learnt our lesson on that score from last weekend.

Sorry to break it to a few on here because I know we are currently top of the league.

      We aren't great.

Lad you listened to twitter doctors who said that because someone pulled a funny face at a corner he had a stroke.

Sure it was him saying Salah's legs have gone, can't beat a man anymore, needed replaced... at end of last season?

      Apologies to him if not.

Defo a yellow for the first tackle, Diaz skinned him and was past him. Why would he go down when the man was beaten?

First was a reckless sliding tackle, very little control and was lucky he didn't catch Diaz. Ref bottled it and it left us with 10 men. When they should be down to 10 MEN...the feckin' eejit Ref puts us down to 10 MEN...work that one out..

Moved Endo into midfield. But first half was a write off. But we owe them big time at Anfield. Other thing is we need a kick up the arse to play.

But why? Endo was doing fine. Konate looked like me running when he came on. Elliott and chiesa not getting a minute in that must be wondering wtf they’re doing

Thought Darwin looked really sharp when he came on, Bradley, quansah, Jota, tsimkas were exactly what they are, players who haven't played much recently

Been awful last two games but I'm hoping it isn't going to be a run of them.

Jones has been stinking the place out.

Very good player, but when the other two midfielders are not the most athletic either, the balance is all wrong. Have those 3 in midfield won a big game?

Dom provides the running for the midfield. Its bloody weak without him.

The first tackle WAS A YELLOW...he was off the ground and was lucky he didn't catch Diaz. 2nd tackle was a clear yellow. Kostas was OFF the pitch for their goal. The Refs weakness caused the goal. WE HAD 10 men on the pitch.

Ref chickened out 100%.. crap decisions have nothing to do with our average performance.

The fact neither commentator mentioned Kostas was of the park

Ref probably thought it was late in the game, it's only the league cup, it's a sh*t game and nobody seems that arsed, first yellow was a bit iffy which Spurs kicked off about....so all things considered and for an easy life I will let that second clear yellow go without punishment

Not like we haven’t seen that before though. Kane/Robbo scenario?

Elliot needs to play games, period. Jones is a good player who has good qualities in small runs. In long runs some of his limitations show. Elliot is just a better player for our system that. CJ

I read one post that said Nunez was lively when he came in. He was. He has no issues with being lively. His lack of clinicalness is something that once again hurt us. The margins are fine, and unfortunately for the boy, they seem to be against him with us

That’s three trips to that stadium in recent years with absolutely shocking decisions going against us.

Kane tackle on Robbo/no pen for Jota, Diaz onside goal not given and then no red card tonight.

Luck evens out apparently - just not at that ground it seems like!

Nunez did well with his chances. Keeper got lucky saving that second chance. That should have been a goal. It is what it is.

Jones is really not doing himself any favour with his lack of energy and commitment right now. He's getting the chance to prove his worth. This chance is wasted, again.

I'm repeating myself, we need better backup in defence. Tsimikas and Bradley were average and clearly not at the level of a club competing for every trophy. Every margin counts, I hope we stop this complacency and try to strengthen this squad ASAP.

Which is a shame because eventually, and maybe this is the start of it, those players that he always uses are going to get fu**ed... and then you've got players who haven't played more than a few minutes all season coming in rusty.

It's his only downfall so far... trust your squad!

The concern for me (and most of us I'd assume) is the lack of squad strengthening via the current owners could see us waste yet another opportunity and break down. This is a small squad. 4 main midfielders for 3 spots, and only 1 of those (Dom) is a real athlete, and one who we badly miss against any strong opponent. If Quansah is out we now have 2 centre backs, which I suppose is better than 4 years ago when we had none when top and did nothing.

The Italian lad clearly has an issue physically. That last second cheap purchase having done nothing in the window is beginning to look like part III of the trilogy, following Kabak and Melo.

We are when we have our preferred lineup and fresh legs. This is where Slot will make his money (and legacy), managing us when we don’t.

Yeah. You don't win things like that because it's rare a squad stays injury free. It's a squad game and we just lost there to an emergency left back, a midfielder in defence and a new kid in goal. That's 3 days after dropping points to a United side that every f**ker has been smashing to pieces.

F**k this narrative that we are great. We need to earn every point and every win. Complacency creeping in and biting our arse.
