I Honestly believe he will deliver the Constructors & Drivers title at Ferrari.. he looks ready…

Charles will benefit having Lewis as his team mate..

Yep. Same for me. This is what it's all about. The greatest driver of his era and the greatest team of all time. Nothing comes close in terms of ultimate combos. My only regret is that this didn't happen a few years ago.

Timing.. Merc were to team to drive for at that time…Ferrari now is the right time.. going to be very interesting seeing RB, McLaren & Ferrari fighting it out..

I think Merc will struggle with their drivers..

It's a huge task for George to lead a team of Mercedes stature. For me, he's got the maturity to make it count and by all accounts the team want to work for him.

Antonelli will be the interesting one. Is he coming in a season too early?

McLaren should and probably will start the season as the favourites. If they don't have the fastest car then they've dropped a real clanger there and questions will be asked. However, watch out for an inter team battle that could get interesting. If Piastri continues on his development curve then I suspect he'll displace Lando as the to driver there. It could get challenging for one or both of them. That's where Ferrari need to be ready ala 2007 when Kimi snuck through at the last race in Brazil to steal the title away from Lewis and Fernando.

But who would you back to take the challenge to McLaren? I suspect Charles will show his supremacy over Lewis on the Saturday in qualifying but on race pace, I'd still back Lewis. As long as Lewis can keep in sight of Charles on the grid then he should be fine.

As for Red Bull, you'll never rule them out while Max is driving for them. But I suspect they'll struggle this year.

Love a Ferrari. Used to collect model cars as a kid and my favourite was always the Testarossa.

It's odd and utterly remarkable how this sport has become the obsession of so many youngsters now, many of them young women. The sport has always had the personalities and as close to real life super heroes in my mind so I always thought f1 could cut through to untapped audiences but not to that extent. No one could have guessed Drive to Survive would be such a success.

Back in the day I can recall pre season consisting of a 30 minute ITV preview show with Murray, Jim Rosenthal, Tony Jardine and Martin Brundle. Doubt that would get the fangirls in. (I would have fangirl'd like mad back in the early 00s) And then pre season testing literally consisting of me dialling in page 360 on Ceefax to see what the lap times were.

Sure, the event was slick and cheesy. WWE like. But if it got some hardcore fans close to their idols then good on them. I would have killed to be in the same room as Schumacher, Hakkinen and co when i fell in love with the sport in 2001.

I'm backing Lando. There are a few thing he needs to work on and I wonder if he's got the shoulders to bear the pressure of being a title leader / the hunted. But he's entering the prime of his career at just the moment McLaren have rediscovered their sweet spot and hopefully a bit of introspection over the winter has put him in a more mature mindset. Maybe a little early for Oscar but he has the speed in the long run to be world champion.

If it rains on Sunday I'm backing either Max or Lewis for the win.

One thing that is irritating about modern f1 broadcasting is that the lead commentators all sound the same. Harry Benjamin and Alex Jacques are fine at their jobs but are identikit commentators with little personality, with exact same voice and neutral accent. David "call me Crofty" Croft is in that annoying band of chummy bantz lad types like Darren "call me Fletch" Fletcher. Foghorn blowhards.

It's a long way from Murray. James Allen and Ben Edwards were excellent two, with their own style and encyclopaedic knowledge of the sport too. Nothing comes close to Murray but dear God, broadcasters could at least try and shoehorn an authentic, passion driven personality into their commentary boxes.
