PSV Eindhoven 3-2 Liverpool: In game and Post Match discussion
      Jan 29, 2025 06:45:31 pm

Philips Stadion hosting the six times UCL winners

Liverpool FC Starting XI: Kelleher, Endo, Chiesa, Gakpo, Elliott, Tsimikas, Robertson, McConnell, Danns, Quansah, Bradley.

Liverpool Subs: Jaros, Davies, Kone-Doherty, Mabaya, Nallo, Morrison, Norris, Morton, Nyoni.

Jayden Danns is handed his first start for Liverpool in this evening’s Champions League tie at PSV Eindhoven.

The forward leads the line for the Reds at Philips Stadion as Arne Slot makes nine changes for the final fixture of the league phase.

Only Cody Gakpo and Andy Robertson retain their places in the line-up from the weekend win over Ipswich Town.

Tsimikas and Robertson both start. Will Tsimikas will be more attacking or Robertson will be more central in defense.

      YNWA, bring a point guys.

I'm happy.  The result tonight is meaningless.  Players need to be rested and protected.  I just hope Gak and Robbo don't have to play more than 60 minutes or so....

Mmm, bit disappointed in that team if im honest, but fully understandable, I'm sure PSV will be rubbing their hands in glee.

Going to be very difficult to keep the 100% record, and possibly top stop.

Robbo will play LCB I guess. More suited to that than Kostas.

Great to see Danns and Chiesa start

      H'on de Pool  :kop5cf8koxp6:

I'm going to post this here because the pre-PSV thread just got locked....

I know the travelling fans want to see a strong side as often as possible, but I'm sure they'll understand for this game...

I used to live in Eindhoven, at one stage beside the Philips Stadion. They'll have a great time there, cracking wee city...
Not sure what the coffeeshop laws are there nowadays but I'm sure they'll score and have a spliffing time.

Fun fact, I moved to Eindhoven in early 1996. My brother and I were taking a spin out to Eindhoven Airport for a bit of craic to watch the planes. On the way there I'd had a couple of Bavarias and spliff, so I asked him to pull in when available so I could have a pish.
We didn't know it, but we were coming up to the PSV Eindhoven training pitch the Herdgang.
There's a big wire fence all around the pitches and I'm on a level just below the pitch relieving myself. Next thing a ball bounces off the fence and I could hear a voice coming to collect it.
Who was it, only the real Ronaldo, but he was chatting back to his teammates and didn't notice me... I still have a giggle to that to this day...
That was the season he got noticed, and Barcelona bought him that summer.... ;D  ;D

Playing both LBs before a difficult away game on Saturday is certainly interesting.

Hopefully one of them is off at half time. Same with Gakpo.

McConnell, I thought that he is below Morton in preferences.

Gakpo and next Saturday's left back (either one) should be rested in half time.

Not necessarily, Mcconnell was out for a long time and only really returned recently.

I think these can win it if they all turn up.
It’s just the uncertainty of them not playing regularly together.

Fairly sure Tsimi plays, at least on occasion, in mid for Greece so I wouldnt be shocked if hes there

In saying that could be Robbo at centre Tsimi left full and Endo in mid

Absolutely delighted to see Danns start, fancy him to net one
