We are likely missing 4 defenders for this after Trent and Konate went off, Konate may have just been cramp but Trent looks a bad one. Bradley and Gomez still a couple of weeks off according to Slot.

I think Quansah has to play at RB, he did really well last night and adds height for set pieces. It’s either Grav or Endo who come in at CB, I think it could be Grav and Jones can go in alongside Mac in the middle.

They have a few injuries most notably Botman who will miss the game, alongside the suspended Gordon.

Slot said tiredness rather than injury.

The only selection issue is up front. Starting Jota seems mad at this point. Nunez at least works the defenders and aids the wide players (especially Mo) in doing the running for them. It's slim pickings but I'd start Nunez.

Five days is plenty of rest (its probably the sweet spot) so no excuses here.

Regardless of the penalty miss, I want to see Darwin start this one, Gakpo doesn't seem fully fit yet and Jota has been borderline woeful since coming back.

Big Wembley pitch, start with the athletes in the team. As the game slows down, bring on Harvey, Jota, Endo, Jones who are more suited to that pace. 32 year old Mo needs runners around him, both to play off him and to drag defenders away to open up space for him. Jota is too lightweight and too often anonymous when not getting on the end of chances.

Going into ET last night really gave us a couple unnecessary problems we didn't need before a cup final. I'll still be confident we can win if Ibou is ok and can shake whatever he picked up off.

Hall and Botman out, Gordon suspended. Should give us a little boost.

From an LFC point of view with international break coming up after it there's no point resting anyone now so it's just a question of can you play and if so for how long.

I think with Jürgen you would see your Eliotts, Chieasas, Quansahs and Endos playing a lot more minutes because he needed fresh legs to play his style and trusted the fringe lads a lot more. 

Arne is far less inclined to use the squad so with that does come negatives.

I think the most adventurous he will go at weekend is choosing Jones over one of the midfield 3 but he will probably opt against it when push comes to shove.

I would have liked to have seen him keep the main 13 or 14 fresher by using more fringe players in less taxing moments but it just isn't his style.

What it means is Newcastle have a huge opportunity to do us over at weekend.

This will be the 2nd time in 2 years we've gone into this game battered and bruised but we managed to put in a heroic effort to bring it home that day.

If were being pragmatic, this is a tough one to call after last night. Were the best team, but were banged up and our heads could be down. Gakpos match fitness also makes thisntough to judge. Nunez head is probably all over the place. Jota is out of form.

They are gonna go HAM. They have been talking about this being their world cup and trying to win a trophy for the first time in 50 years. They have a lot of energy behind them, but also a lot of pressure. They're also missing key pieces in the defense and one of their best attackers.

We need to put last night behind us and remember this is a special season and getting a result on Sunday makes it that much more special

Just have to try to channel as much of the frustration at missing out last night into the charge for another trophy on Sunday. I am glad Gordon is out for them as he really runs non-stop. Even though some of our players are running on fumes atm we don't have many alternatives to the regulars so I wouldn't expect a greatly changed side and hopefully there is some respite over the international break.

Not sure if VVD and Quansah would swap sides so don't have Endo & Quansah same side. Endo could do a Milner for a while at FB. Or maybe Kostas on that side.
Jones was poor last night, and doubt Elliot would start so has to be the usual three in the middle.
Jota wasn't great vs PSG, but they were 'really' good, closed down quickly, should have bit more leeway against Newcastle. Cody looked a ways off match sharp the other night, Nunez confidence must be taking a hit, Chiesa likely not get on at all.
Would be nice to win it, but the bread and butter is the one we all want.

You've also not taken Slots personality into the equation .  I don't disagree with having trust in Endo and Harvey, but Slot hasn't started either in any game that matters. With 4 days rest and international duty coming after the game, I imagine he does what he always does and plays his players. Again, don't hate your idea, but if the main 11 are fot, they're playing
