So we beat city in the league 1-0,they pretty much changed the whole line up from the cup game, how is that allowed?Need to beat Boro by 10 to win the division!!easy then! Noticed Chelsea lost to porto in the youth league final. :gt-happyup:

Only won 1-0 today so Derby win the north play Arsenal for the cup/title? Gonna be interesting who goes up to u-23's who gets let go and who the newbies from the u-16 will be.

U23s played Crewe to a scoreless draw to open preseason.

Just to give an idea of guys from that squad who probably will NOT be part of the first team preseason fixtures, here is the lineup:

      GK: Daniel Atherton
D: Neco Williams, Tony Gallacher, Rhys Williams, Morgan Boyes
M: Pedro Chirivella (he has to be on his way out), Herbie Kane, Luis Longstaff, Abdi Sharif, Issac Christie-Davies
      F: Fidel O’Rourke.

Elijah Dixon-Bonner and Matteo Ritaccio were among the subs.

I was reading somewhere that Chirivella's loan last season got messed up by paperwork and he ended up not being able to play anywhere! The u-18's won their first preseason 4-0 against Burton albion. The draw for the efl trophy is on friday.

Turns out the ballboy who helped Trent take the corner on goal 4 vs. Barca, scored for the U18s today. No joke!

Mentioned on the other thread these matches will be good for some of the young players now featuring in preseason.  I guess we are allowed to field some older players as well, but I expect we only would in the event of a player working back from injury, that sort of thing.
