No , critchley is the under 23 coach but this role helps players when they step up and back down between the academy and the first team

Right. I'm just curious as to how it works with daily training as this new coach seems to have been recruited for his development acumen and, as Jürgen notes, we have a lot of young talent who we hope will become Premier League players either for us or someone else. Your article seems to say there will be separate trainings at times, like we had with Ljinders sometimes before he became asst. manager. Then it was Woodburn, Ejaria, Ojo, Trent and others, now it would be Elliott, Brewster, Hoever. I love the attention to detail with our setup.

      Thanks for posting the article.

U19 team playing Salzburg with a 3 p.m. UK time kickoff. Is this match at Kirkby???

      Lineups are posted:

Liverpool U19s: Ojrzynski, Williams, Van den Berg, Hoever, Boyes, Larouci, Dixon-Bonner, Clarkson, Elliott, Brewster, Jones.
Substitutes: Winterbottom, Koumetio, Longstaff, Norris, Clayton, Stewart, O’Rourke.

Looks like 3-5-2 and I believe Neil Critchley is the manager for this group, which combines U18s and 23s. But many of our U23s are 19 and younger. The only starters I see blended in here are the goalkeeper Ojrzynski and Leighton Clarkson, who of course has been training some with the first team. Some more of the subs are regulars with the U18s like Norris, Koumetio and Stewart.

They play them during the work day. I've thought the night before the Champions League match might be better but I suppose the two teams travel together so maybe it wouldn't work either.

Anyone standing out for you so far in this game?

1-1 at half time.I don't think playing the game in St Helens helps the crowd,we need a set up at the Academy,5,000 seats or so,for these and the womens team, dunno if thats part of the redevelopment.Probs not.

Coach has to tell them to try and beat the high press , build up far too predictable.

Curtis seems to be in especially good form. Would love to see him get another first team chance but understand it is difficult.

I have noticed before our U23 manager does that quite a bit. Seems like for professional players they might be better off left to make their own decisions.

I think it's bad enough for youth games where coaches act like they have a joystick to control every kick of the ball, at the U23 professional level, I wonder to what degree the players are even listening.

Elijah Dixon-Bonner scored twice and Tom Hill once for the U23s. Harvey Elliott played well as did Neco Williams at right wingback. Brewster and Curtis Jones were both rested in advance of international duty. Yasser Larouci played at center forward which is about the fourth position he's played for this team so far this season.

Doesn't seem to helpfull to constantly be yelling.I can understand why if one of the lads is not playing the position right.I think he had a yell at Bonner-Dixon for pushing up to soon but yelling at Laroucci for not taking on the defender doesn't seem to help but hey i'm no coach.

Watched the everton game last night, score didn't represent the game, especially first half.we seem to have alot of undersized players, solid pair of central defenders.Brockwell played well in mid.I wonder who goes to watch these games,is it just family, friends?Oh yeah, Adam Morgan was on the post game bit.
