That is absolutely sensational. Well in Rodders. How are you feeling mentally as well as physically in comparison?

I was feeling great, it's kind of come to a halt the last fortnight, but it is all work induced, I work in the parcel business and....this time of year.

I knew this was coming but you can never fully prep for the hours you end up putting in, to get the job done.

Really struggled to "find" the time to do anything since November/December. The job I quit in January, for me, was the reason. Could never seem to get the time to do it, always working, even when on days off. Leads to anxiety for me and I end up just wanting to find a way to chill out and end up comfort eating too.

My heaviest has been 17st (108kg) in 2017. I got down to 14st 10 (93.5kg) by Dec 2017/Jan 2018 which is my lightest since I was about 14/15.

I'm currently sitting at 15st 10 (100kg) and aiming to get back down to 14st level.

Need to stop letting anxiety get the best of me and just get to it because I feel fantastic after working out no matter what it is. The issue since November has been motivation. I start my new job soon and have had time to clear my head.

Have done 30 minutes on my spin bike the last two days (11miles in 30 mins) consisting of 2 mile warmup, 1 mile 8/10 resistance, 1 mile 2/10 resistance until I reach 30 minutes. Ends up being 4.5 easy miles and 4.5 hard miles. I take a small breather and then do a kettlebell workout as I want to try tone my arms/shoulders/chest. So just under an hour of working out and according to my polar HR monitor (chest) I'm burning 650-750 calories between the two.

I feel great, a little sore, but great nonetheless. Now for me, is to just get my diet back in order as that's the main reason for my weight gain.

Start of another journey, and I'm excited.

Brilliant - go for it mate.

I really relate to that as it’s a massive factor in my general equilibrium too.

Struggling at the moment as been toiling with a recurring virus & fatigue for couple weeks now (off work). I’m really, really fed up and frustrated but I know it’ll pass.......eventually.

You can and you WILL get there mate ✊

      Cheers mate.

Hoping you feel better soon. Might be the same one I’ve had, I’m at latter end. Chest is cleared just still nasal and ears are at me, but much better than I was.

      Lads...

I’ve been on a 4 day stag to Amsterdam  and 3 day wedding in St Andrews with an open bar. I’ve literally drank over 100 pints this week and put on 1 stone in 7 days....

      WORTH IT!

Will be doing some serious cardio to drop back down. Will keep you posted.

No need for cardiopulmonary treadmill tests assess how CVD fit you are. Can you do 40 press ups?

It’s a great and versatile exercise. You can vary it so much to work different muscle groups.

Dropped 6 of the 7kg I put on last week in the last 7 days. No carbs passed my lips, lots of running and free weights. Beer weight comes off quick thankfully!

Been really slack with the working out over the last year especially and my eating habits have been poor, probably the worst shape I’ve been in. Worked out since I was about 15 for a solid 7/8 years and then with work and things it became more inconsistent for one reason or another. This last year though my eating I think has been poor, it’s not eating too much, it’s not eating enough, trying to get through the days on the odd thing here and there because just had no time in the day, so the muscle mass and weight has just generally dropped. The last couple of weeks though I realised that I needed to make a change, go back at it with full dedication because it wasn’t healthy. I’m back onto the strict diet with a few meals, appropriate snacks and in the gym a lot more now. Single sessions at the moment whilst I get back into the set diet and workout regimes properly and then will go back onto double sessions.
Obviously where the weight has just dropped off me I’ve got the slight luxury of bulking for the minute.

2nd session done with the PT this morning and enjoying it more than I thought I would.

The hardest part was actually going and getting the 1st one out of the way.

Haha I broke a rule and had a few scoops midweek last night.

One of my best mates is over from Oz as his mum has been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Big night was Friday distracting him so last night was a more sedate blether about the universe......

My arse will be on the treadmill at 4:30 today though 💪

IT band syndrome in my left knee, well that’s what I have diagnosed  ;D

So need to cut back on the running and 5 a side for a bit.

Really frustrating as it only flares up when actively participating.

      Can be a bugger mate.

They call it the personal trainer’s injury because it often flares up when you’re running gait / posture are unnatural - like if you’re running with someone or at at someone else’s pace.

You might find you need to start back when it’s still not 100% - in my experience I tend to have to start back gingerly when still feeling it because the tendons don’t want total rest.

      Weird injury.

I've got Plantar fasciitis in both feet from (probably) doing the Camino.
Taking ages to heal, interfering with my golf, and I can only do weights or exercise bike.

I assume you are probably already doing this, but get one of those nubby foot rollers and roll your feet every morning and throughout the day, also a muscle roller on the calf muscles will do wonders as well. I have Achilles Tendinitis in my left heel and I have to do this to manage it. Same treatments seem to work for both injuries.

I've been using it, but probably not enough, as there isn't really any improvement.
Any idea on how long each day I should be using it for?

I usually roll both feet (just for balance) in the mornings and both calves, only for a few minutes, then throughout the day just when I think about it. I probably don't do an hour or so total. Not sure how anyone would have the time for that.

You can also roll a frozen water bottle, that serves the purpose of stretching and also icing or treating any inflammation.

PF is a tricky thing...I had it in both feet for about a year, I wasn't really diligent in treatment, but it finally just went away. Felt like I was walking on broken glass in the mornings when I got out of bed. They also have a special sock you can wear at night, keeps the foot stretched, I've heard they do work although I never tried them.

This is the only rehab protocol that cured by tendinopathy.
      And it’s evidence based 👍
