Back running again now that I've freed up a bit of time in the evenings.

Longest distance since I started back last night.

      5.7km in 33.09

Sometimes it frustrates me how long it takes to build up speed on 5/10k runs.
Couple of weeks at a time before any notable increases.
Probably because you push on a bit early on and then fade,
and then take it easier early on the next time.

Do you pace yourself with an app or just go out and run?

Ran 3 miles this morning in 24:36.

That's pretty good for me considering I still need to lose about 17lbs.

I'd like to regularly run a pace of about 7:30-7:45 and I'd be pretty happy....bit of a ways off though.

I'd be happy enough with that.
Great base if you reckon you still need to lose a bit.

I use and App to track my runs and times mate.

Couple of pretty big hills last night as well which were a bi*ch.

I find I have to mix up my route every so often just to break things up but not that I've got on just over 5K I'll use it to see if I can progress my times.

Yea I tend to go up and down on my weight. Anywhere from around 203 to 178 typically. I spend more time about where I am right now....191.

I like to eat too much...that's why I run ;D

It's amazing though how much faster you run and how much more pain free I am as I drop the pounds. if I could get down into the low 180's I bet I'd take about 15 seconds off my mile pace.

That's good. Helps pace it alright.
I was hopeless at it before using runkeeper.

See I don't have any hills where I run.....it's all flat.

If I go up 4 feet in elevation I start struggling ;D

I have a GPS watch that I track my pace with...although it's getting repaired right now. I'd use an app but I can stand to carry anything with me when I run.

      Was a proper 5k run.
Ended up talking to people as I went and using people to pace the run out of boredom.

I like running with music but hate wearing earbuds so I'm really screwed. I run faster with music too.

If someone would invent a shirt that had built in speakers and connected to my ipod shuffle, that would be boss.

I had Yurbuds and they worked for awhile but ultimately any runs over 3 miles they would end up falling out. I think I have small ear openings or something...the stock earbuds that come with an iPhone hurt my ears and don't stay in very well.

      Interesting.

I've put a pair of Bose sport earbuds on my "birthday list" so maybe if anyone in my family really loves me I'll have something to try ;D

If not I may check into those.

So finished my second sprint triathlon this morning. Swim kicked my butt, water was pretty rough. Finished in 1:22 or thereabouts, haven't got official timing yet. That's about 3 minutes slower than same race last year and about 7 minutes off my goal.
