Doing the couch to 5k, my running parts are working out at around 7min/mile. Still slightly the wrong side of 20st/280lbs, and as their are a few runners on here, is that a decent pace? Should I slow down a little, 5 weeks in, had my first stitch last night, or is that pace OK?

Not been on the forum of late, health and other things have just taken priority.

Over 200lbs down from my heaviest.
Over 100lbs down from last year.
      -32.5lbs in ten weeks.
      -5.5lbs this week.

      Another 80-90lbs to go.

      Exercising 5 days a week.

Couch to 5k is going well. My phone is now registering what I'm doing as running, begin week 3 Monday.

Try and get on the forum a bit more, but my life is just so damn hectic of late.

Congrats mate. Good to see it's going well.

That's a quick pace for starting off. Don't worry about pushing on past that yet.

What Racer said Rodders - that’s plenty quick enough for now 👍

If I were you I’d worry less about pace, more about distance and increasing the length of the running parts. If you run at a 9:45 min pace but run the whole 3 miles you are doing much better than running only portions at a faster pace. For weight loss specifically you would want to be at a lower heart rate (sustained) than you would for building speed. Focus on duration and distance, the speed can come later on when your body and heart are accustomed to the higher output. Keep up the good work!

7min miles from off the couch is a great pace mate. Focus more on distance now

      Barsteward.

Felt something go in / around my left hammy tonight after about 3km. Big setback.

Got it iced and will see how it is in the morning.

Man I get so unbearable when I’m inactive so family all on alert!

Unless it's swollen I'd be getting some heat onto it mate not ice.

Ran 9.25 miles this morning in 1:45:52. Think I am ready to run the half marathon in 3 weeks.

Something wrong in my glutes, top of my left leg. Short runs are fine, but the third run in the couch to 5k is a 20 minute one I've just not been able to finish it. Stretches today, will do some more this evening. With my weight, I was really worried about my knees and ankles, they've been fine, this just feels like I've pulled something, not even sure when.

Had a game earlier and think I’ve overstretched and maybe hyperextended my knee. Hurt at first then ran through it but now I’m starting to feel it quite a bit. Unfortunate as I was planning a run tomorrow morning, oh well.

Certainly didn’t come off worst mind you, one of our lads landed horribly and broke his collarbone. Had to get carted away in an ambulance and didn’t know where he was.

Another circuit done struggled a bit for consistency since Tenerife in July and back on the 17th.......

Nice to get back into a routine before a week of “re-tox”
