Put a kilo on past few montsh since being on medication for High BP and colesterol.

Playing golf twice a week and tennis once a week, and plenty walks. so fitness wise im good, just need to get better at cutting out the beer and bad foods. l o l

Was pleasantly surprised to see I was at 195 this morning after my run. So 18lbs lost so far. In reailty, I'd like to lose another 20 lbs. I think it would also help ease up the inflammation on my knee to have less weight for it to support.

What’s the diagnosis on the knee?

Osteoarthritis. Inflammation basically. Doing everything I can try to reduce inflammation.

Starting to introduce some speed back into the running.
      Did a 25min tempo @ 7.30 pace.

Long slow running has its place but gets a bit monotonous without any some speed sessions.

Knee stood up ok so the rehab is paying off - mainly now consisting of one legged wall squats held for 45s x 3 and 3 sets of weighted Bulgarian split squats working my way up to half my body weight.
Will introduce some sort of power exercises as well like jumping lunges but not quite there yet for those.

I've kinda of stalled on losing weight. Not really gaining any but just holding steady. So I'm down about 15 lbs or so since March.  I'm used to cutting more weight in a shorter amount of time, but that's when I could be doing a ton of running. Biking doesn't seem to quite burn the calories for me.

Also, tore the meniscus in my left knee so no more running for me for awhile. Currently I'm mostly swimming and biking and rehabbing my knees. Definitely not ideal situation but doing the best I can with it. I've got a bike race here in a couple weeks...metric century so that should be fun.

sh*te. Haven't set foot in the gym in a couple of months, and been eating junk the whole time too. Few things going on in my life so it's taking a back seat.

Also haven't set foot on scales the whole time either so don't know what damage I've done.

Hoping to get back at it next week again and hopefully won't take me long to get back into the swing of things again.

Making gains in the gym, even with my chronic pain from TMJ I don't stop working out. I also get nerve pain from an issue in my lower back and neck but its not stopping me, getting in the gym helps a great deal with my mental health!

Gone from two years ago where I was 92kg my biggest weight down to 77kg back up to 84kg with more muscle than when I was 77kg. Now I am stepping the cardio up a notch to try burn as much fat as possible while still hitting the weights.

      Thanks for asking haha

Starting to put some extra mileage now 12 weeks out from the marathon.

Legs are feeling it today after 18 miles yesterday.

Same 18 miler today and felt much easier - I think the pouring rain helped in keeping it more comfortable running temps.

Still trying to rehab my torn meniscus in my left knee. So now my right knee is getting worse again. I can bike ride but not much else so my weight loss has stopped and actually gone up a touch. Going to be a long slow process before I’m running regularly again.

Any chance of the surgical approach?

Trying to swerve that. I’ve heard once you do surgery your knee will never be as good.

I did the one in my right knee a couple years back. It should come back, will just take time.

6 weeks to go before the marathon and have got the mileage up to just over 40 miles a week plus decided to throw in a cross fit day with cycling on the stationary bike.

I don't think it will hurt you that much, you have a good base. Stay positive, and try to chase that quick time. I reckon you can still do it.

      Completed the Amsterdam marathon yesterday.
Fantastic atmosphere from the Dutch spectators lining the streets, really did help the last 5k despite hail and heavy showers.

Finish time of 3.48.17, happy with that for my first 26 miler 😁

Man that's an awesome accomplishment. I've heard great things about that race. It's funny but if I were ever to do a marathon, I'd probably want to do one in Europe as opposed to over here.

It’s supposed to be a fast one, I just hate Chicago personally so that’s a no for me 😂
