i cant see why he is 2nd choice keeper in Spain??? he should be the first!!!

Impressive.  Obviously a cornerstore of the new regime to get the best players signed up on long contracts to protect the assets of the club.

They should have been doing this years ago.

at long last we've got a keeper who rivals the other teams in the top four and is probably better.

This a great news, I know that I have in previous thread said that we should get a pure wolrd class keeper but pepe prove me that he is world class, his saves in the semi finals against chelsea were outstanding and it's true that if you look at his record he is one of the best in the premiership. Good on you pepe, and my apologised to have had doubt about your abilities..

Pepe Reina has won the Barclays Golden Glove award for the second season running after keeping 19 clean sheets in the Barclays Premier League campaign. 
Reina's closest competition came from Everton's Tim Howard (14 shut outs) and Reading's Marcus Hahnemann (13).
 
The award is further evidence of the form of Reina over the past couple of years, but the Reds' stopper is keen to share the honour with his teammates.
 
"This is not my trophy," he says. "It's recognition of the work of our defenders as well as the other players in the team.
 
"We are a special group at Liverpool and that is why we have had some success over recent seasons.
 
"I would say our defence is a ten out of ten unit. There is such a determination not to concede goals and hopefully we'll be able to reproduce our best form throughout the coming season.
 
"For me, clean sheets aren't the most important thing. If I keep one at Aston Villa this weekend then great, but if I don't and we still win the game then that's great as well."

Yes well done Pepe and the defence, but i thing this just goes to show we need an out and out goal scorer, and hopfully we have one now. Fingers crossed for May.

Ahh amazing We do have a blydi brilliant back line though, and Pepe is a great shot-stopper!!

So we had the most clean sheets in the Prem last season? Next was Everton and Reading? That's weird.

Thoroughly deserved.  I don't have the stats but I would imagine he must really be up there with the best Liverpool keepers for clean sheets and saves etc.

If he continues his excellent work next season, and the forwards pull their weight then that's half the battle won.

Liverpool have always had fine goalkeepers from Tommy Lawrence in the 60's, Ray Clemence in the 70's and Brucie and now we have Pepe Reina, one of the finest.

congratulations to Pepe, I have to admit that when he came I was a bit worried as I didn't knew anything about him, and I have posted that we should have a world class keeper. Thanks Pepe proved me wrong all along..apologised Pepe to have doubted you..He is truly a top keeper and I'm glad that he is one of us and he totally deserved that award.

I think in the three Premiership games he's played this season, he's not had to make any vital saves.. been a fairly easy start for him apart from facing pens.
