If Skrtel is half as mobile as he is big, and if he has a bit of pace about him, then this will stand to us. He looks like another Vidic. Him and Agger in the future...are the future.

I would play him in the reserves this week and play him next match. Lacks match fitness.

Martin Skrtel is set to get his first taste of English football next week. 
Rafa Benitez is considering using the Slovak against Aston Villa on Monday. However, if the defender does not feature he may be thrown into the reserve clash against Wigan on Tuesday.
 
Benitez said: "I am really pleased with him and am thinking about using him now. He can be available against Villa, in the cup or maybe in the reserve game.
 
"He is one of the options for Monday."
 
Meanwhile, Daniel Agger is Liverpool's only injury concern ahead of the Villa fixture.

Would be nice to see him get a run out and for us to see what he can do in defence with Jamie guiding him.....if he can understand him

  Reds new boy Martin Skrtel could be set for a dream Liverpool debut when Aston Villa visit Anfield on Monday night. 
The Slovakian centre half has impressed during training at Melwood and Rafa Benitez has given a clear hint that he could make his first appearance against Villa.
 
"We need to consider the fact that Jamie Carragher and Sami Hyypia have been playing almost every single game," said Benitez.
 
"Martin is definitely an option for us. I am really pleased with him and with the work he has done with us on the training ground since he joined us.
 
"We have been doing some things that he wasn't used to doing but he has picked things up really quickly.
 
"He doesn't talk too much English but he does understand and I have been explaining things to him.
 
"On Friday he was training alongside Carra and he did well. Villa is a difficult game and they have good forwards but I think he will be ready.
"Everything is really positive. The only problem we had was that Martin had not been doing much training before he joined us because the league season in Russia had ended a month earlier.
 
"But he is very strong and if we need to use him then he can play.
 
"When we were talking about signing him we were talking about his qualities and his physical approach to the game was one of them.
 
"I think that he will be okay."
 
 
 

Only saw a bit of him but he looks like he could be a decent signing.  Agger Mk 2.
