The BBC are reporting the RBS deadline is actually the 15th of October - not the 6th!

I cannot remember where but I have seen reports that the 6th of October isn't a make of breakdate and that sometime in the middle of October was nearer the time but it that seems odd that there'd be so much talk of 6th October for no reason.

Something not right here guys.Hicks had that meeting 2weeks ago with blackstone and they told him no deal.some how come we heard he had a meeting with the board last week telling them his plans to buy the club out right.

this c##t got some one else to back him,i can feel it in my gut.

I thought the meeting last week was another one with blackstone, but this time the board was present?

If previous reports are true, then the board would block any plans for him to try using LFC assets as collateral for a mortgage/loan which would explain why blackstone told him to F**k off, if indeed that's what happened.

RBS seem to have a greater dread of taking control than was thought, Hicks is being given more than enough rope to hang himself with and plenty of time to practice the knots.

Now there's a plan - the bank gives him enough rope to hang with, then pulls the rug out from under him, sending a clear message to LBO merchants to stop F***ing with UK companies and football clubs in particular.

      Ah well, I can dream....

The point being made was RBS are giving Hicks time because they do not want to wrestle control of LFC from anyone,Hicks knows this and the bullshit board know it and will play it for all it's worth.
That is the only reason Hicks and the board of fuckwits remain - they are allowed to.

      With what funds?

      He has no funds.
He has assets but chooses not to use them. What he doesn't have Res is sufficient credability in the financial world,in order to raise the Capital required to buy out the RBS debt on his own.His failed attempt to lure Blackstone into lending him the money, shows that even they view him as too high a risk, and they specialise in re-financing debt laden businesses. My view is that the only remaining avenue open to the gobs***e,is to convince someone to buy in,a long shot I know, but I just can't see the t**t rolling over just yet.

Yeah, thats probably the only option but he'll struggle to find anyone who'd be stupid enough to anger us even more by helping prop him up. At least thats what I hope.

There will be a few twists yet im afraid...

But another organisation refusing is good news - it does however show that they have no intent on selling our club and all the before are lies. We knew this, they knew this, RBS knew this, the FA and Prem knew this too.

Now they have proven they will not sell we need to alert RBS to this, and make sure any new investors know what the score is.

Fan power prevents Tom Hicks and George Gillett from refinancing Liverpool loans - report

Fan power has stopped Tom Hicks and George Gillett's attempt to retain control of Liverpool after several banks refused financial packages after being picketed, according to The Mirror.

Texan millionaire Tom Hicks had been rumoured to be close to agreeing a £280 million, two-year deal with the Blackstone investment group before they pulled out of talks. Similar overtures to 10 organisations have been swatted away as he desperately tried to raise the capital to clear the £237m owed to the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) before a mid-October deadline.

The pair are understood to have been told each time that the political situation following supporter protests at the deeply unpopular stewards had stopped negotiations. If they continue to fail to generate the money, Hicks and Gillett's stakes in the Anfield outfit will be taken over by RBS.

KopFaithful, a group created to campaign against the Americans, calmly welcomed the news.

A spokesman said: “We are encouraged by the latest news, but we remind every Liverpool fan that the fight is not over until the Americans are out of our club.

“We want to make it clear to anyone that Hicks talks to, that if they underwrite his attempt to hold onto out club and extend his disastrous regime then they will face a backlash from millions of angry Liverpool fans.

“The current board at Anfield have made clear their opposition to the thought of any refinancing, because they believe that it would not be good for the future of the club, and we hope that no bank will lend money to the Americans when the people running the club are telling them not to."

I worry that the like of Hicks and Gillette know far more about this type of finance than we do and that they have made a lot of money by using other peoples money rather than there own.
The thought of them both having to leave without taking a penny more out of the club is a tantalising prospect.
Whilst i like everyone else waits with anticipation for the October to arrive I just know these two will not go quietly. All we can do now is pray that there is some justice in this world and if there is these two will walk away with nothing and  the new owners will pick up the club cheap enabling them to invest heavily in a new ground and new players.

This thread is very misleading. I opened it thinking there would be something substantial regarding this so-called "fan power" but the only reference to it is that the writer of the article has added, "The pair are understood to have been told each time that the political situation following supporter protests at the deeply unpopular stewards had stopped negotiations". It's a very amateurish article written by a bullshit website. I could knock up a more convincing story in 60 seconds!

But anyway, all that matters is that they are another day closer to losing the club! :-)

Hello there I one of the many people who have been lied to, angered, frustrated and left in anxiety over Tom Hicks financial transactions at Liverpool FC. Whilst Americans don't quite understood the nature of the sport we share common similarities in sport the passion, the love, the spirit, the unity with our sports teams but our passion is currently declining incredibly quick as our club is under financial plight from the on-going transactions of Mr. Tom Hicks. I ask you to read this and understand millions of people's concerns and think very closely with the refinance of Liverpool FC. For many people this club, this very special and unique club is the life and what they live, breath, sweat and sleep for and taking away their pride would mean not living again. So consider what we're saying very thoroughly:

People can use that for introduction if they want.
