      8. Looks older, acts younger.

We're talking about the dog. Right? ;)

Which breed is he? Wolfhound? It wasn't until the branch picture that I realized how big he is.

      Think he's part Irish wolfhound.

Judging by the knees I'm guessing the other half is Bryan Robson.

      He'll be alright mate.

Won't be long before he's out carrying trees in his mouth again.

Hope he gets better soon :)

My auld fella had a dog that was half great dane, half black lab - big bugger as you can imagine, but gentle too.

He does look older, fine dog though and he does have a pedigree look about him. Vets have told me that pedigrees are more susceptible to major health problems and different breeds more so than others - mongrels are hardier and have a longer lifespan. Doesn't really apply tho if he's only 8 and in the prime, no offense to your dog but Alex Ferguson is in the same mould - looks older, acts like an idiot.
He'll soon be teararseing about the place JD and make you wonder what you were worrying about.

Question for other dog owners though - does yours have a mental moment every now and then?

Ours seems to have about two a day - he'll go absolutely crazy, full pelt running, turning, swivelling, jumping on the chairs and onto us and back down again for about half a minute or so?

My old border collie used to have silly moments like that Ross but only ever when out on a walk and peculiarly only in one particular wood we went to.  He'd just suddenly start running in a big circle so fast it was like he was doing doughnuts  ;D

I still miss the old guy and think about him everyday  :'(

Hope your dogs ok JD it's not nice to see them laid up.

Slow progress on the cruciate. Leg ballooned up to twice it's size and he's been pretty stationary for the last 48h.

Not as quick a recovery as when they rebuilt his other leg but fingers crossed he is over the worst. 7 days on the couch is starting to affect even me.

He's cut from JD cloth so he is a fighter ;) and hopefully the rest of his days will be filled with demolishing trees.

Our Boris had a scrap tonight with another cat who looked the F***ing spit of her. She kicked it's arse though.

Well well well. After years of my Mum and Dad not wanting a dog, they visited the dogs home up here in Scotland and seen a dog that they fell in love with, he is a Staff :). The SPCA took him away from a home about 2 weeks ago as he was being trained to become a dog fighter, he is only 5 months old :(. We have had him a week now and he is amazing, he is well trained and actually listens to orders. I have just taken a few photos of him so I could share him with you all.

His name is Buster and he is now in a well loved home with people who will treat him properly.

      Him in the house chilling.

Cheers mate, he is such a loveable dog and I get so wound up when people train dogs to fight. He is sitting here with me now watching the footy.

He's got a lovely face Danny, well in to your family for giving him a loving home and taking him away from what would have been a terrible life for him.

Hope Max is on the mend JD.

Still moving round on the one back leg.

Finished his antibiotics and painkillers - stitches out Friday.  Definitely slower progress than last time.  :(

As long as he's getting better, that's the main thing mate.

And is right Danny! That's boss what you's have done there. I love staffs too. I think a couple of members on here can vouch for how much of a belter my staff, called Sid, is. He was on top form lastnight. :D

This is my fella Oscar.  He's 8yrs old and I got him from the border collie rescue centre 3yrs ago after my old fella Zak had to be put to sleep.  Couldn't have got through those dark days without him.
