31 is no age to retire from football. No age at all. Would be very much in his prime if it wasn't for injury after injury.

A brilliant, naturally gifted defender. A wonderful find by Rafa who would have achieved so much more if it wasn't for injury. All the best Danny.

Sad to see! But maybe this all for the best if Agger continues to struggle with injury.

I don't think forearm to the face equates to being a tackle :D

did the Ref give a foul I think not just robust tackling by Danny :f_whistle:

Great player and his love for the club will put him down as a legend for me anyway.

Who could forget his goal against Chelsea in 2007 Champions League Semi-final.

And that thunder c**t against Blackburn.

Oh and probably his best moment in a Liverpool shirt, dropping Torres  :D

You and me both. When he had that knuckles tattoo done, he instantly became one of us. He 'got' the club and what it means to us supporters. Was genuinely gutted to see him leave us.

Such a cultured and classy centre back probably the best since Hansen, no coincidence that Skrtel went to sh*t after he left.

Dedication, passion, love for the club - Agger showed all that and more in red shirt. Top-notch lad in every sense of the word. He'll never walk alone!

Not the kinda goal you see many CBs convert, stroking it in with a bit of curl in a CL semi :)

It's a shame he didn't stay another year so that he got the testimonial he deserved.

The full package. Maybe got bullied at times but he made up for it with his ball playing and defending and he loved the club to bits.

      He was a class act.

After Sami probably the best CB we've had since the 80's.

For me, I'd peg Carragher and Henchoz before him.

I like those proper no nonsense defenders first, and they were both better defenders than Agger IMHO.

Good luck to Agger though, he was a good servant to the club and he will leave us with fond memories.

Rodgers vindicated in selling him though, I think so.

Retirement at 31? Surely there were a couple more years left in those legs!
A proper Liverpool player, and a proper defender too!
All the best in your retirement Dagger, expect to see him in management soon.
