Fantastic century from Dawid Malan in the first ODI against the Aussies but they've taken our bowling attack to town. They need just 60 from the last 15 overs, with seven wickets remaining.

Chasing 281 in the second ODI against the Aussies and we're 75-3, with Roy once again failing miserably at the top of the order, Salt trying to go too hard too early and the in-form Malan going for a duck after being bowled by Starc.

Vince and Billings at the crease now, with a 40 run partnership.

100 run partnership for Vince and Billings now. Much needed this.

      Aussies win.

We've reviewed the decision but it's plumb in front.

That's the ODI series gone 2 down one to play. Butler rested for this one, gives an indication of the desire within the England camp. 280 only 20 odd over a par score. Some lazy or tired looking shots from England. Not great scheduling but still.

England playing in one day mode in test cricket. 506-4...off 75 overs..bad light ends play. 4 centuries...Brook for me the best of the 4. Such an aggressive ball striker, free swing, just hits through the ball. Going to amass runs in every format of the game.

I haven't followed test cricket for years and I'm a long way past the peak awareness I had for it when England won the Ashes in 2005, and when they last played in Pakistan.

But just catching up on the first day of the test on BBC Sport and reading the report is remarkable. Astonishing stuff! I thought English sport wasn't supposed to be radical! And it must be great to see a test match like that in Pakistan once more

Unbelievable achievement by England, scoring over 500 in one day.

Day2. Very little in the pitch for the bowlers. No turn, just a flat batting wicket. Pak batting very well on 181-0. Probably going to get 500+ so looking like a tame draw.

Not sure this is a good test match wicket. Not sure it ever is in Rawalpindi.

Pak have as much chance as forcing a win here than England now. But the draw looks nailed on barring an unlikely collapse from either side.

      Bowlers must be nackered

England might have an outside chance. Get 3 quick wickets, smash 250+...put them in for last hour or so...but yes the pitch isn't going to crumble on the 5th day but England get them on say 90-4 going into lunch on last day....could go down to the wire

This is where 'Bazball' really pays off. If it was a normal paced game, with the scores as they are, you'd expect to be well into the fourth day with the chances of a result being slim. Instead, if England can wrap up the tail early, there's a chance to bat fast and get the best part of four sessions at Pakistan to bowl them out. The rapid first innings run rate has effectively given England two extra sessions to force a result.

Still a tough ask on this wicket but there's a chance.

Probably right. Never been that impressed with Leach, I mean 100% as a man, as to play for England with crohn's is an incredible achievement. Jacks and Root are part timers. No pace in the wicket so the draw looks odds on.

On the flip side England could be defending 250 on the last day of the test.

It's exciting though. Don't think any other team in world cricket could force a positive or negative result on this wicket.

Would love to see Root try and anchor the innings here  with the others license to attempt chaos around him
