Pitch looks flat and the boundaries are short

Great controlled calculating century by Root. Jason Roy more explosive. England No1 at this form of the game so it could even be a 5-0. Alex Hales unlucky not a get in. Tighter line needed by the bowlers but 375-380 looked a par score on that pitch.

England are better when chasing down a score. Think Bairstow will make a big hundred. Windies bowling looks a bit tame without Roach and Gabriel.

I wouldn't be not really. One day cricket nowadays is heavily favoured to the batsmen
Yesterday's track looked a 380-400 bat first pitch with the boundaries in

Don't forget had Roy took Gayle on 9 which he should have we would have more than likely been chasing 300-330

I think Archer will be parashooted into the attack for the world cup too, he's got serious wheels

Yes I think we have a good varied attack.Pace, swing, left arm over the wicket, good spin options as well. Batsmen who bowl etc. England have such an explosive batting line up 350+ target doesn't phase them.

Difficult for the bowlers to get the line right when batters go after them. Windies may be over reliant on Gayle getting a score whereas England have several match winners. Be surprised if England lose more than one against the Windies.

England win the toss and put Windies in.Gayle opening. If he goes early, and he will at some stage in this series, the Windies will either sink or swim. Today's pitch, at the same ground looks like another 350+ par.

England hot favourites and everybody will be trying to hold their spot for the forthcoming ODI World Cup which starts in May this year. As well as that, do well in the shorter version and IPL and other lucrative contracts are up for grabs. So the competition for places is fierce.

Gayle when he connects lashes it out of the ground. Pitch looks good. 65/1 off 13 over. If Gayle stay in could make the 300 mark but they need to up the run rate

144-3 off 30 overs. Windies will have to bat very well in these last 20 overs. 275-280+ looks on. Might not be enough.

England set 290 to win. Great knock by Hetmyer...104. One to watch, great future. Good all round bowling from England. Few no ball and free hits given away.

290 looks a bit short, bout 25-30 runs or so.

Announcing details of the new 100 ball competition. Not fussy on this. 20/20 stretches the essence of the game. This new 100 is a contrived formation. Cricket is lost a bit is this game...loosely based on the game of cricket, more about feeding into the revenue opportunities.

England off to a bad start, 2 wickets lost.Root and Morgan trying to rebuild...36-2.......Hetmyer's fell over..

Ball is just holding up on the pitch, not a pudding pitch but not quite coming on to the bat..still England bat deep.

      Root out for 36...60-3..

Should keep politics out of sport.

England need 120 off 18 overs. Could be a close call. Bout time Butler did a bit.

Stokes out for 79. England need 60 of 57 balls. 5 wickets down.

Stokes shows his temper walking off. Need an ice cool batter out there for these close run chases.

just watched Jos Butler score 150 in 70 odd balls making a mockery of first class bowlers. all sorts of records.
He scored 54 in 11 balls and the sixes were big sixes out of the ground on a few occasions. 418 -6 50 overs

Jos Buttler is some cricketer when he's in the zone.

      First 50 took 45 balls, next 100 took 32.
