Watched the last few overs and the superover when I got home last night.

NZ must be gutted, that ball that was thrown in by the outfielder, hits Stokes' bat and goes to the boundary for 4.  6 runs when it should have only been 2. That was the World Cup right there!

Yes that was incredibly unlucky, but I fancy Stokes would have found another boundary if he had needed to, rather than just scramble a few runs in the last few balls after that.

We've been on both sides before. That marginal lucky and unlucky feeling... We all understand that. Similar to those sudden death shootout. Very fine margins.

Boom! That's because you're a closet Liverpool supporter!!! Ok or a lfcreds supporter to cut you some slack and to be technically correct.  :f_tongueincheek:

Thanks for being happy for us when we won number six! Likewise, I'd be happy for you too... just you... In some sort of similar fashion. Still love-hate. You know what I mean...

Ireland will probably need about 200 so it will be difficult.England pushing out on the front foot, fatal if there is movement off the pitch and thru the air.Even needed the nightwatchman to help them to a decent 2nd inings score.Doubt the Aussies will be impressed.

Good first innings score set up the victory ;D.

Woakes and Broad just sealed their place in this team for the summer. Add into that Anderson, if it swings it's all bets are off. Could be a very low scoring Ashes.

Love test cricket and agree that England will have to knuckle down against the Aussies. Going to be an exciting Ashes.

Wish Ireland well for the future, could well move up the rankings with a bit more experience on the international scene.

The Ashes are  back and the Aussies have taken this game from England I feel.

They've got away with this big time because if Jimmy were fit they'd have been skittled for 140.

England seamers running in treacle since tea and the way we bat they'll be bowling again tomorrow.

      Aussies will get 270 here.

284 in the end big score in the context of 2 weak batting lineups.

The umpiring today was absolutely shocking. So many wrong decisions.

As if the standard of umpiring hasn't been bad enough they've just handed Australia a different ball after 60 overs. Changed from this years barreel straight Duke to last years Dukes that were swinging around corners for us against India and strangely enough they're doing it again.

Theyve fallen for the oldest trick in the book

England in big trouble for the match. Theyve been unlucky this game I feel with  the Anderson injury which I believe cost them 150 runs in the first innings and will no doubt do the same in the second.

England arent successfully chasing any more than 150.

From what I have seen so far though with a full bowling lineup (Archer to come in) England can win this series. Smith aside theres nothing.

Starc to come in may change things perhaps?
