That was brilliant stuff after tea. Great atmosphere. I went to see Lancashire and also games at the hundred last season and its great seeing families at sport. You never see it at football anymore because it's no longer in the real world. Will be going more games this year and the test at Lancashire as well against SA.

could still go either way if we attack but the Draw would be OK being 1 up so far. How brave is Stokes I think one of Englands problems down the years has been not having an identity and being indecisive. I would love to see them go for it but it seems unlikely

So happy to be wrong that was exactly how you should approach a test match it was there to be won and if they tried and failed then so be it at least they had a go.

Good opening session for us in the final Test this morning. They’re 65-3

What has been incredibly noticeable though is just how far the commentary levels have fallen since Gower, Beefy, Bumble and Mikey called it a day. There’s very little laughing or banter anymore and it seems even the nostalgic talks aren’t as entertaining as they used to be.

The modern day world doesn’t help matters of course because we’ve got to have commentators who tick boxes now rather than those who may be best for the job. And the constant rotation of bringing in someone for one or two days doesn’t help. I’m all for keeping things fresh with a different voice but not if it means the enjoyment suffers because of it.

Worst culprit is Nick f**king Knight who is the equivalent of Ken Doherty on the snooker as far as I’m concerned. Talks like his opinion is gospel and then won’t shut up about it for a good ten minutes. But most of the new lot (my generation of players) aren’t up to scratch on the mic. The one I did like was Rob Key but he’s obviously busy doing other things right now.

I don't see how Aleem Dar can say he's inside edged that LBW appeal. You can see front from the front on camera that it's nowhere near his bat.

I’m all for the aggressive approach, especially as we’ve won the series, but if this ends with us seven or eight down before we’ve got to a hundred then I hope they’ll be as criticised as much as they were praised for the second innings at Trent Bridge. There’s a time and place for this kind of attacking play.

Stokes will get away with it though because he’s the darling of England cricket - especially within the media. They’ll all praise the approach rather than give him the real criticism it deserves.

Overton playing a blinder with Bairstow now on 74 with Bairstow  on 88 great partnership and loving the positive attitude going for every ball not in a manic way but if its there to be hit these lads are hitting it 204 -6

series avg so far 4.4 per over  . Seeing someone come in like Overton bowl well then do well with the bat is really nice to see. When the chance comes these lads have to take it I always remember how Trent started his first game and Neville was pissing himself laughing well he isnt laughing now.
