Yeah, I'll be watching this. Life On Mars was class so it'll will be tough to be as good as that no doubt. Especially as John Simm isn't in it. But it's set in the 80's which always gets my attention  ;) Plus that Gene Hunt character is a good laugh.

I watched it and it was ok, I'm not expecting it to be as good as the first one but its worth watching just for Gene Hunt! 1st line "Your entry in your diary today will read, I got shot by armed bas**rds!" The mans a legend and the posh bird running round in stockings for most of the program was an unexpected bonus!! ;) I loved hearing the Clash and Stranglers in the show too! 8)

       :lmao: Love it.

Gene Hunt is class. Liked the bit when he said his team was the A Team. And it was funny to see the old jam butty bizzy cars again.

There's gonna be some good music in this programme.

Great Programme this......Loved the DeLorean Car.........class

The music too is brilliant, trying to pick out the clips they play and remember the tracks, managed to spot Geno - Dexy's Midnight Runners, Messages & Souvenir - O.M.D, Body Talk - Imagination, and how good was it to see Steve Strange singing Fade To Grey, Oh and Swords Of a Thousand Men by Tenpole Tudor.  ;D

Great era, take me back to the 80's  8)

Watched the whole series of this one, the ending was a bit odd with her parents dieing, because i thought that she had been put back in time to save them, and as she hasn't how does she get back  ??? Was a brilliant finish to the series though.

Loved Gene Hunts line 'we are un-bloody-breakable' Loved that scene!

Gene Hunt is a class character. Glad there'll be another series - there's no way one series of Ashes To Ashes could rival Life On Mars. But it was better than I thought it would be. Plus you can't beat all the 80's tunes....

We need to start a petetion to get Gene Hunt in the present time!

When you have beaten the bad guys the only thing left is to head to the pub. Unless your the flawed hero. Then you send your girl back so you can stay angry at the world and villans cant exploit your weak point. Unless they hide the whiskey that is. . . Other than that. . . Bloody brilliant ending....but I'm still trying to work out what the hell happened!! Anyone want to explain?!

They were in a sort of police purgatory, where Gene Hunt's character is ultimately revealed to be part of a supernatural world in which members of the police force who have been killed or critically injured in real life come to in order to either wake in the real world, as initially with Sam Tyler, or for those killed, to accept their deaths. Gene Hunt guides these police officers and should they accept their death in the real world, takes them "to the pub" - moving on to an implied "heaven" beyond, whereas Keats was the Devil trying to lure them to hell.

The last episode reveals he has done this for many other officers before, including Sam Tyler and, in the final episode, also does so for Ray, Chris, Shaz and Alex; in the closing moments, another officer from the future appears wondering, like Alex and Sam, who has changed his office, and wondering where his iPhone is, and Gene Hunt ventures out to greet him, in his usual fashion.

So basically, Gene Hunt is an afterlife Ghost Whisperer, an alternative (TV) reality version of Jennifer Love Hewitt...

Just finished watching the last five episodes on the iPlayer (with a break for a bbq in between) and I'd certainly agree with that summing up.

Enjoyed it! Life On Mars was better for me though.
