      Congrats to Roger Federer.

Dug deep in the 5th set against his old rival Nadal and played some majestic tennis.

Really fantastic match, I wish some of our lads could learn some never say die/fighting spirit from these 2 great champions.

For me he's the greatest of them all. The classiest and most gifted sportsman I've ever seen.

Nothing in sport will beat the Federer v Nadal rivalry. So great seeing it on show once more and

Thought the longer it went on the more it favoured Rafa and thought he would run away with it in the 5th after the early break.

Up there as the greatest sportsman in history in my opinion. 35 years old and still winning slams, just ridiculous.

It's the only sporting event that went right for me all weekend. Well in Roger.....fantastic effort from a true Legend of the game.

Hopefully the 2 being in this final and making it a damn good one at that, will be the start of them both battling it out in finals on a regular basis again.

Errr ok. Great Britain win the Davis Cup tie against Canada after Kyle Edmund's opponent Denis Shapovalov absolutely tw*ts one into the crowd in a fit of rage...only to hit the umpire in the eye. Disqualified!

Federer beats Rafa to win the Miami open! Great to see those two back at the top competing.

Feel for Rafa though, love him as a player but injuries have ravaged him and I truly believe at their peaks he was far and away the better player. But Federer...WOW. I had him written off and this year has been spectacular for him.

Aside from his talent and being far and away the most stylish player in terms of style, it's his consistency that marks him out as the greatest ever. 34 and still competing at the top. Incredible.

For me Roger will always be number 1. His greatness lies in the high consistency with which he has played something that Nadal hasn't achieved. That he stormed onto the scene nearly 20 years ago when Sampras was still top dog (which seems a lifetime ago now) and that he is still doing the business is just an amazing achievement. We've seen so many players careers come and go in that time and yet he still remains. He's played in very different eras of the sport so he's very much a man for all eras. And like you said, he has to have the most graceful and charismatic style of any sportsman in any sport. I love watching the guy on tv and it is a such a big regret that I've never seen him live.

Oh and fair play to Konta on winning the women's draw in Miami. She really is powering through those rankings now!

The 2nd final Nadal and Federer have battled it out in lately. Maybe a sign they are both well over their injury problems now, or at least close to that being the case.

I agree mate, it is the consistency like you say. To stay at the level he was, making slam semi finals and finals for 2 decades nearly is something else. But particularly at his (and Rafa's) peak where he was never missing a tournament and producing the tennis he was for such a long time is incredible and thats what makes him the greatest.

But I do think that at both of their peaks Rafa had his number and would beat most players from any era. His relentless drive and motivation and desire was incredible. But it's one of those rivalries which have driven/drove each to become a better player. Pretty sure Fed is on record saying he had to go away and change his game once Rafa came along because he couldn't deal with him.
