      Davis Cup final underway.

Kyle Edmund's made a bright start here against Goffin.

      What a performance from GB!

I know it's a team competition (and James Ward and Jamie Murray certainly played their part) but Andy Murray's performances this year have been absolutely incredible. Winning 11 games in a row in the Davis Cup is astonishing.

After not winning this for years ,decades almost a century I cant help feeling a bit underwhelmed beating the might of Belgium.
Lets be honest its not the competition it was and Andy Murray won it on his own and he has to be fair fantastic head and shoulders above anyone else in the team

It will go down as one of the greatest individual efforts in Davis Cup history so I think it's fair to be shouting about this. That said we mustn't forget James Ward's victory over the much higher ranked John Isner in Glasgow at the start of the year. Without that win GB would have been out. Beating the USA, France and Australia beforehand took some intense effort. Add that to the class of tennis that the other Murray is capable of in the doubles as well as a bright looking future for Kyle Edmund and you can only say that coach Leon Smith has done an amazing job. One of the best British sporting successes in recent years without a doubt.

      Hahaha! Very good.

Wozniacki and Venus out already. Paire from the men's is gone too.

That's a shame. Two great sportswomen.

Nadal sent crashing as well. His physical style of tennis is probably taking it's toll now. Never been his biggest fan though. Always been a bit suspicious about him after reading doping allegations.

Watched some of Murray's match before going to bed. Easy first round match for him that was.

Nadal sent crashing though. Don't think he'll ever get back to number 1. Physical style has taken it's toll. Some of the injuries he's taken over the years though have been unbelievable though.

Shame that a player as talented as Nadal won't have fulfilled his potential. Injury has near on finished him off now

Definitely fulfilled his potential. Just didn't get to experience his peak as long as he should've. Never mind though, Novak is the greatest there ever has been and will dominate for the next few years.

Take nothing away from Verdasco, who was excellent at the death.

Watching Kei Nishikori against Tsonga on Eurosport. Such an impressive player he is and has looked very good in this tournament so far.

Surprised no one is in here raving about Konta given the British love to praise their own :f_tongueincheek:

Cracking tournament from her so far. Locked in a first set battle for a spot in the Semi's. Can't believe i'm saying that.

Very frustrating match Nishikori played against Djokovic.  Obviously Djokovic is a much better player but it definitely makes it easier on Novak when his opponent does all the work for him by hitting so many unforced errors.

Ferrer is another player I really like.  Maybe the best player not to have won a major.  Works so hard, fights for every point.  Got his arse handed to him by Murray though.

Maria Sharapova has failed a drugs test!  :o She claims the medication in question was for diabetic worries and such.

Doubt it will uncover a wider doping problem that is prevalent in the sport. These days being on a 'gluten free diet' is a good enough excuse.

If they were the "performance enhancing" type I'd be suing the dealer as they clearly weren't working  :D

      http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/article/36073220/boris-becker-andy-murray-is-out-of-order-for-voicing-doping-suspicions

These comments went under the radar last week. Strange comments from someone who himself accused a fellow tennis player in the 90s of doping. But now that Andy Murray voiced legitimate concerns, Becker, Djokovic's coach gets all defensive? And then Djokovic adds insult to injury by saying that 'as long as we don't have proof that the sport is not clean, it is 100% clean'.

Sounds like Armstrong all over again.

French Open is on! Big couple of months of tennis with Wimbledon and Olympics right after.

Murray nearly knocked out twice and Wawrinka scraping past the first round, too. Looks set up for a Nadal/Novak final again.

Reckon Aggie Radwanska will finally breakthrough for a win in a Slam, too (incoming 6-0 6-0 loss to Serena in the final ;D )

Currently Coric v Tomic in the second round. Cracking match up with two young guns but at 1 set all and 2-2 i'm going with Coric to win this. Hunger to triumph over talent even though i think Coric is a future superstar.

      Coric wins it in 4.

Big fan of his. 18 and in the top 50 with an excellent all-court game and a refreshing attitude on the court. With three potential superstars in Aussie tennis right now (Tomic, Kyrgios and Kokkinakis) it shouldn't happen that Coric is my favourite youngster on the tour.
