Fabio Aurelio Player Thread

Best game of his time last night, didn't let anything down our left flank, and although he didn't have a chance to get forward, you can trust that he'll deliver something decent most of the time with that left boot.

Second best game i've seen him have for us and the best was against arsenal last season.

Well he's done nothing wrong this season, but hasn't done nothing amazing either!

He's no Cashley Cole or Gael Clichy imo

I have to say I think after next season, Aurelio is going to be hot property. He's been playing well and will progress rapidly imo. However one thing that im not happy about ( and not just because he's my profile pic either) is the level of Riise bashing in this thread. I mean come on every player is entitled to go through a bad patch but instead of supporting him everyone seems to be jumping on the lad's back. I for one think JAR did a good job when he was brought on in the Arsenal game the other night. He quietened Walcott down anyway. After the second goal he hardly got a look in ! I might even go so far as to make a new world famous Youtube video - "Leave Riise Alone"

Fabio Aurelio may not play again this season after being ruled out for three weeks with a torn abductor muscle. 
The Brazilian left-back was stretchered off in the second half of Tuesday's drawn Champions League semi-final against Chelsea following an innocuous challenge with Joe Cole.
 
Even if Liverpool do manage to get past Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next week, Aurelio would still face a race against time to be ready for the final on May 21.
 
Rafa Benitez said: "I have been talking with the doctor and with this kind of injury it usually takes a minimum of three weeks for the player to recover, so it will be very difficult for Fabio to play again this season.

If only he didn't get injured and we didn't have to substitute him. 

sh*t looks like we will be calling Arbeloa back to cover LB now then, unless we play Riise but drill it into him he needs to stay back!

Another injury , that's sad he's been playing well. I think Raffa will opt for JAR on Tues with maybe Insua on the bench as cover but who Knows what Raffa will be thinking and it may be to soon for Emiliarno Insua.

I hope he'll start next season where he left off form wise otherwise its back to square one with him.

aurelio will be missed be on gd form of late JAR just needs to get his head around the goal and concetrate on the 2nd leg and should be fine

He has been awesome lately and you can really tell how much of an improvement he is when we saw Riise come on for him. Worst timing again for his injury, feel soory for the lad AGAIN!

I have been critical of Aurelio I must admit I know have egg on my face and deservably so! He definetly was our best choice at LB this season and I feel sorry for him being injured again.

He is very injury prone. I think Rafa should look for a new left back.

Riise - Is getting worse by the day
Insua - A young lad, still early days

He has been looking for one for a few seasons now remember the whole Heize saga. I think we will get a new LB in the summer.

im gutted for the lad. He has had a verfy solid season for us but has picked up some injuries has he was bang in form.

Head up tho Fab lad 3 weeks means back in time for Moscow!!!

I really feel for the lad.
Not had the best of times with injuries whilst he's been with us.
To the end of last season, he was hitting great form before getting injured, and the same has happened again this season.

I would really like to see him have an injury free season, and my bet is that he could cement the full back's berth as his own.

The good thing on his side is that he is only out for 3 weeks, so head up lad.

Despite our win today, I thought both Aurelio and Riera constantly let the ball come in from our left without trying to block it.
