One of my favourite players during the past few players; most certainly one of the most talented players we have had during that time, but also one who should have played many more games then he has managed to achieve, with us, and with Brazil.
His pure natural footballing ability is undeniably and his loyalty, unquestionable; never moaned once during his difficult moments, which unfortunately, has occurred more regularly then we expected.
His injuries were the real shame, he has just had so many that he hasn't been able to play a regular run of games, or stay fit for any duration of time. Every time he played, i have a slight worry that he might get injured again, which always seemed to happen.
I think it is best for everyone if he moved on, while seemingly a popular and good lad in the dressing room, still doesn't deserve his wages if he unable to play and i expect we won't renew his contract. It will probably be best for all parties if he moved on; he might move clubs, which might be a change that could re-spark his fitness, or he could possible retire.
He has my full respect and i think i speak for all Liverpool where we thank you for everything you have done for us. Your service has been very much appreciated; i wish you could have played more but i'll never forget some memories you gave us. That free kick against United in the 4 - 1 win will live in every fans memory.
