      Liverpool Poems
      Mar 05, 2008 12:18:45 am
OK NOT ONE FOR POEMS USUALLY, LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.

They came from the banks of the Mersey and dressed in Red, now all over the world there are fans wearing the Red.
Shank's army were beating the blues again and again, the Red army was on the march, with the cry a LIVERBIRD on my chest and the Bootroom team were the best.
While people think of Shank's, Fowler - god, even moses, all I hear is the moan of the bluenoses.

The blues got battered and bruised, they ended up with sore heads. While the mighty reds are the city's elite, the sublimest, all Everton can think is move out and they're certainly not Tesco's finest.

While Evertoneless swap losers with the scum up the old east Lancs, the mighty Reds are a laughing, cause all they've got is a team full of wa**s.
Goodison lies half empty, while Anfield erupts, the full house sing " You'll never walk alone" while across the park Z cars is played to the man and his dog.

Dalglish and Paisley they were good news, Roy and Gerrard tried, but Rafa had suceeded and the blues cried and cried.
The Red army rode at dawn, with men full of wine from the Arkles or Sandon, to Europe and glory they went, while the bluenoses were left with wine gums in Rhyl in a tent.

They have their dreams, while we have our will, they are left with the reality of a bitter pill.
Rafa has the men while Moyes has just boys, he couldn't even manage that lump of fat, Looney, you know the one calls himslef Rooney.
As crazy horse once said Liverpool are magic, Everton are tragic.

Forget about Jürgen, Rafa is our king, is this poem surposed to rhyme, ok ding aling aling
Let George and Tom and any other Yank be in no doubt, in Rafa we trust, we don't need a think tank.

Let's fight for our club and our Rafa and we'll be dynamite.
Forget the rest we're the best.

We've won some cups, we've won some Charity Shields, lets do our bit now and help free Michael Shields.
We sing of Anfield Road and poor scouser Tommy, we sing out loud that we won it five times, let us pray for number six, but never forget
      JUSTICE FOR THE 96.

Paul Mc aged 43 and a half, a proud, adopted scouser, LFC in his veins, consciuously for 37 years.

It always gives us REDS great satisfaction when we beat the Goodison blues,You only have to look at our great record in F.A.Cup semi finals and finals to appreciate how good we have been against them. One particular game that deserves mention was when we were in the old 2nd division and the blues were in the 1st division and we played them in the 4th round of the cup and thrashed them 4-0.I cant be sure but I think that match took place about 1957/8 Now my memory is playing tricks after such a long time and I am not sure if it was Billy Liddell or Alan ACourt who scored a hat-trick but i am sure the game was played at Goodison.

I am beginning to think you know me too well,Now for another question outside of Everton the first away game my Dad took me to was a cup tie against Blackburn in the late 1940s  which was exciting but sad as we got beat,I'm sure it was the 5th round but could be wrong. We got the train from Exchange Station and it was the first time i had been on a train, when we got to Blackburn I was surprised to see roast spuds getting sold in the streets from what looked like hot dog carts but we did not have hot dog carts in those days.I remember coming home very sad because we had got beat. Now if anyone can fill in the details of that match it would be good ,Thank you.

it honestly took me last night alone, early hours though, between 1 an 3 am. I'm really lookin for people to shout names I haven't got in it but without embarrassing me by sayin I've missed a real obvious player. :D

Cheers to those who've said it was good.

To be that creative it takes swealterin heat, early hours of the mornin, total boredom, a missus on her mates hen night and 17 years of nothin but Liverpool Football Club shoved down your throat by your auld man.

p.s. if you mean Steve Nicol, I haven't missed him out he's in the four lines that starts with "Longworth, Josemi and Jimmy Case"
Will have to go through again, didn't remember seeing Sinama-pongolle.

Sinamam Pongolle you won't find but you will find Flo. The line is "Walters, Thomas, Gayle and Flo"

im porbably wrong and cant see torres or rafa I think ;D  still amazing though ill read it again just to make sure im right though i dont mean to be fussy either ;)

Torres is in there, Benitez isn't because he didn't play for us.
