The mind boggles with the shenanigans at Chelsea...

      From the Beeb...

Chelsea have completed the signing of Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino in a £15.6m deal.

The 19-year-old has signed a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge but will remain on loan at the Argentine club for the 2024-25 season as part of the agreement.

He made his debut for Boca in June 2023 and has made 10 appearances in total.

Anselmino signed a contract extension in January 2024 that tied him to the club until 2028.

Chelsea have been active in the transfer market this summer, recruiting Tosin Adarabioyo, Estevao Willian, Omari Kellyman, Filip Jorgensen, Marc Guiu and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

About £90m has been recouped through the sales of Ian Maatsen, Lewis Hall and Omari Hutchinson while Conor Gallagher is expected to join Atletico Madrid.

The Blues are in the market for a striker and are keen on Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion

      They now have 8 goalkeepers.
      BBC-

Chelsea are set to add an eighth goalkeeper to their squad after agreeing a £17m fee with Genk for Mike Penders.

The 19-year-old will sign a long-term deal at Stamford Bridge and is then expected to go back on loan to the Belgian club for the forthcoming season.

Chelsea signed Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal last month for £20.7m and have seven keepers listed in their first-team squad, including last season's number one Robert Sanchez and Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is back after a year on loan at Real Madrid.

Penders made his senior debut in July, becoming the third-youngest goalkeeper to play in the Belgian Pro League.

The 6ft 7in Belgium Under-19 player will become Chelsea's 10th summer signing and will take spending beyond £150m - with Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion expected to join imminently for a £34.5m.

They seem to be signing a new player a day, and doubtful whether any of them will ever get a debut. Seems like the whole club is just a laundromat for agent fees. Bananas.

Keep his worth at a premium, so if they sell him within next couple of seasons they still getting top dollar.

Kid signed an 8 year deal only last summer ;D, where's the danger in his worth not being kept to a premium?

If anything it just outprices anyone of a move so it baffles me. Then again it is Chelsea FC.

🙄 you can offer a contract for as long as you want

Just can’t amortise the transfer fee across the full length of the contract , maximum of 5 years
