Salzburg's sporting director (Chris Freund) turned down the job at Chelsea. This after Michael Edwards turned it down recently as well.

Interesting they're having a hard time filling that role.

The alarm bells must have sounded for Chelsea fans when it was Boehly who had his arm around Sterling during the official unveiling of him as a Chelsea player and not the manager or Chief Executive. Total egomaniac

Chelsea linked with another £50mil player in January it must be nice to have owners who back the manager to the hilt. This will take their spending to over £320 mil since the new owner came in.

The consortium is loaded - 3 or 4 billionaires with around 10bn each

Part of the purchase was having money available for purchase and the stadium- they will be close to running out of that money

The business is erratic that's for sure, doesn't seem to be much planning behind much of it.

Wow ... 105m offer. This lot get 33000 every other week. Ffp or not this new owner is here to win and he's giving potter some serious backing.

I thought it was announced last week that teams were no longer allowed to spread the cost of the transfer over more than 5 years of the contract now because of what Chelsea were doing to get around FFP?

He is certainly backing Potter, but none of the signings they’ve made make me sit back and think they’re going to really improve now. It seems like a scatter gun approach with no real thought going into any of the transfers.

That was UEFA asking for the maximum contract lengths but I’m not sure if it’s gone through etc

It would not be a surprise if Chelsea get into serious financial problems in 3-4 years because of this spending. It feels a bit like Everton's chaotic spending habits.
Do all these players fit into a team together or are they just buying everyone available because they have £1 billion available?

Who knows...but it sure would be cool to be able to go splash half the money they've been tossing around on a midfielder (or 2).

Uefa we’re trying to push a new ruling through to stop them spreading it over 8 years , your right their putting it down to five , but until the rule gets passed they can’t stop them spreading it to 8 , also they said there can be no retrospective punishment once it comes in , so until it does their going to keep pushing these long contracts as it looks like their not spending , but of a joke really , they found a flaw in ffp and flouted it to the max .
