      NINETEENTH HILLSBOROUGH MEMORIAL
      Apr 11, 2008 07:59:17 pm
      NINETEENTH HILLSBOROUGH MEMORIAL

Tuesday 15th April 2008 will be the nineteenth anniversary of the disaster at Hillsborough in Sheffield that cost of our 96 fellow fans their lives.

A memorial service has been arranged to mark the occasion and to remember those who died.

Please meet outside the Hillsborough Justice Campaign shop [opposite The Albert] between 13:45 and 14:00 and join us in our walk to the memorial.

The service will be inter-denominational and will take place on the Spion Kop at Anfield. It will commence at 2.45pm, include a minute's silence at 3.06pm and conclude at about 3.30pm with the singing of 'You'll Never Walk Alone'.

Tickets are not required and we extend an open invitation to you to join the families, survivors, the Directors, officials and players of LFC plus thousands of fellow football fans in our annual act of remembrance.

This year is expected to be very well attended and we would ask that you allow adequate time and plan to be in your seats as soon as possible.

The Hillsborough Justice Campaign remains solidly committed to supporting the fight for justice in whatever form that may take. Justice for the 96 will always remain as the fundamental aim of the campaign. However, we at the HJC also acknowledge the need for justice for the survivors of Hillsborough. We acknowledge the depth of suffering that so many have experienced for nineteen long years. We also acknowledge those who could no longer take that suffering and ended their lives tragically. We would ask you to add them and their families to your thoughts and prayers everyday.

Tea and or coffee will be available from the HJC shop before and after the memorial, please feel free to pop in and use any of the facilities available.

Thank you for your continued support.

In their name and in their memory 96 candles still burn bright.

I assume there will be a minutes silence against Blackburn?

19 years on.  I can hardly believe its been that long.

The new HJC website will be launched that day too.

19 years but still so fresh in my mind. I sat as a ten year old to watch my heroes on tv only to see this unfold. Words are useless now but i genuinely mean that the 96 are in my thoughts today and other days to. You are still a massive part of the club and will never be forgotten. God bless you all and may your day of justice come

I was unable to make it up from London for today but at 3.06pm I stood and paid my respects to the 96 Reds and their friends and families. I passed a few tears of sadness mixed with anger at how this all came to be. We will never forget.

Our thoughts will always be with the families, friends and loved ones of the 96. And also with those who were there that day and thankfully made it back home safe. One day we'll have justice.

A very fitting an emotional service today. We'll always remember.

I don't know if anyone tuned in to the Hillsborough programme on LFC.tv but it was certainly a poignant account of fans who were there and people who are fighting with such determination to get justice for the 96 who died. It beggars belief that not one person has been made accountable after 19 years but what actually happened was the authorities blamed the innocent dead or dying fans of Liverpool FC to cover their own short comings. Absolutely shocking and disgraceful. We must honor those who passed away by fighting for the justice they rightly deserve.
It is so unbelievable, it really is. RIP96

i watched it mate. Sickens me to the pit of my stomach that those who made it out of the "pens" and then tried there best to save others were painted in that poxy paper the way they were.

God bless you for your efforts that day to save your fellow reds and I truly hope that you all get the justice you deserve no matter how long it takes
