Sorry I mean the Spirit of Shankly group have spoken on the Rick Parry situation...
We want Parry gone as much as anyone. He’s a disgrace in terms of what is in the public domain and in terms of what has been strongly rumoured.
But he’s utterly castrated. Right now he’s no threat to this football club. He’s done all the damage he can do – what a load of damage it is – and he may just be able to play a very small part in rectifying the situation. The damage can all be done by an owner who wants a CEO he wouldn’t be able to replace to resign because he can’t talk to his co-owner. This is kamikaze management from Hicks.
He’s trying to divide the fans by going after the man who may be as unpopular as he is. Hicks wants to divide, he wants to lash out, he wants to play for every last second to get every last penny he can out of the football club and while we’d love to fight some old battles, while it’d be great to apply the boots, we think it’s time to rise above the base instinct and remember exactly who the target is.
Let’s make this clear. If Tom Hicks and George Gillett sold the club on the 1st June then we’d call for Parry to go on the 2nd. Parry’s more responsible for this situation than anybody apart from the Honorary Life President and has shown us all contempt.
No one would blame any Liverpool supporter for cheering the news of Parry’s impending demise but let’s not forget who target number one is: let’s not forget how rudderless our club is and how that situation will not be resolved until the ownership issue is resolved; how we could have a summer of uncertainty in the transfer market and on the stadium until Hicks sees sense and takes the profit that’s on the table to him.
If Hicks’ move yesterday wasn’t that of a desperate man, what is? Did he just wake up and realise Parry shouldn’t be Chief Executive any more? We could have told him that months ago. Let’s not fall for this playing to the galleries. Parry out, yes, but Hicks out first!

And on the 3rd June... ?
