Not LFC related but Fulham are the only team in the league that have not seen a card for diving this season. Only Serie A is worse in the top European leagues, although that could come down to how the referees call the games in the respected nations.

Strangely enough with all our possession we average the 2nd most tackles per game in the league and still have such a woeful defence.

Our attacks come from these positions: Left 36%   Centre: 28%   Right: 36%

Our shots: Left 18%   Centre: 61%     Right: 21%

Shot zones: In 6 yard box: 5%    In 18 yard box: 52%   Outside the box: 43%

Action zones: Own half: 27%    Middle: 44%      Oppostion half: 30%

Goals scored: Open Play: 41   Counter Attack: 0   Set Piece: 9      Penalty: 5   Own Goal: 4

Suarez in the PL for us this season: Most goals: 22   Second most assists: 4   Most chances created: 85   Most dribbles: 90  Most shots: 174

The fact we haven't scored a single goal from a counter attack is very surprising but also when you think back over the season is very telling. We dont have that ability to play terrible in a game but still win that United/City have had over recent years.

      Wasn't Henderson's at Villa a counter-attack? Or am I getting all bass-ackwards here?

It looks like it. Not sure what Opta count as a counter attack, though.

Small consolation, but today was our 13th clean sheet of the campaign. Last year we had 12, so an improvement there with still 5 games left.

      Reds top England's all-time table
      18th Apr 2013 - Latest News

New figures published by the Guardian newspaper show that Liverpool have won more top-flight points than any other team in England since the foundation of the Football League in 1888.

A total of 113 seasons have been completed, with the Reds competing in the highest division for 98 campaigns and amassing 5,220 points in the process - ahead of Arsenal and neighbours Everton.

Liverpool have played 3,901 top-flight fixtures during those 125 years, winning a record 1,800 of those, drawing 974 and losing 1,127 with a positive goal difference of 1,640.

At Anfield, the Reds have triumphed in 1,168 of their 1,950 matches - a win ratio of 59.89 per cent - and found the back of the net 3,926 times.

Only Aston Villa and Everton have completed more campaigns at England's highest level than the Reds, who have been crowned champions in 18 per cent of their top-flight seasons.

Forget the biting bollocks (or arm) let's remember the good about today.

Luis Suarez became the first Liverpool player to score 30 goals in a season since 2008. And therefore only the second to do it since Robbie Fowler achieved that feat for a third consecutive year in 97.

F**k the biting, 30 goals in a single season deserves celebrating.

      F***ing love you Luis Suarez.

      Here here Billy!

Its a pity there hasn't been more talk of this on here among his own fans.

Instead quite a few appear that they can't wait to see the back of him.

Indeed. Amazes me that anyone would want rid of him just because he did something stupid. Suarez is a little genius and he can have his little vampire nibbles now and again if he delivers the quality on the field he has this season. 30 goals in an average team is a superb achievement.

Round up of stats after the Newcastle game.

      • Prior to the game, Liverpool’s starting XI had scored 28 league goals between them this season, just five more than the absent Luis Suarez.
      • Daniel Agger’s quick fire opener means that Liverpool have scored five goals within the first five minutes of a league match this season, which is the equal most with the two Manchester clubs.
      • Jordan Henderson scored two goals, and the Reds are unbeaten (winning six and drawing one) in the seven games when the former Mackem has found the net.
      • Daniel Sturridge scored and assisted a goal for the second game in a row, and for the third time in just eight Premier League starts for Liverpool.
      • Both Sturridge and Henderson scored two goals and assisted another in the match.
      • Only thirteen Premier League players have scored a higher percentage of their shots than Jordan Henderson has this season (23%, minimum of fifteen shots attempted).
      • Stewart Downing created five chances against Newcastle. Top chance creators average about three per game.
      • Before Coutinho had started a game for the Reds this season they averaged 1.19 accurate through-balls per game; since the Brazilian has started, Liverpool average 2.44 per game.
      • The former Inter Milan player threaded three accurate through balls against the Geordies; the Premier League’s best player for this skill (Santi Cazorla) averages 0.9 per game.
      • Ten different players had a shot and/or created a chance for the Reds today, with six scoring and/or assisting a goal.  Total football!
      • Lucas Leiva attempted an incredible eleven tackles against the Magpies, missing out on the record for the Premier League this season by just one. Coincidentally, the record (which is held by Pablo Zabaleta) was achieved at St James Park.
      • Newcastle attempted nineteen tackles in total, meaning Lucas matched 58% of his opposing team’s tackle tally on his own.
      • The Reds have now scored four-or-more goals in six league games this season, and five-or-more on four occasions. Both feats are new records for Liverpool in the Premier League era.
      • With three games still to play, the Reds have only scored more goals in five of the previous twenty completed seasons. Five goals in their remaining matches would make this Liverpool’s second highest scoring Premier League campaign.
      • The clean sheet secured at St James Park mean the Reds have now shut out their opponents in fourteen league games this season, the second most in the division. That’s already two more than last season, and the same in total as the season before.
      • Pepe Reina now has five clean sheets in his last seven league appearances.
      • Remarkably, Liverpool scored six goals from just nine shots on target. In the recent Reading game for instance, the Reds failed to score despite having eleven shots on target.
      • Liverpool now have two points more than last season’s final total, and have won eight more points than they got from the corresponding fixtures in the last campaign.
      • This was only the second league game that Luis Suárez has missed this season (the other being the 3-2 win at West Ham) and remarkably Liverpool have scored nine goals from seven different scorers in those two games.
      • The Reds are now unbeaten in their last five league games, and only eleven of the other ninety-seven teams in Europe’s big five leagues can currently better that.
      • Liverpool have now won nine league games by three-or-more goals this season, more than any other team in the division (Arsenal have won the second most, with six).

Danny Sturridge today became the 180th player to hit double figures in number of goals for Liverpool Football Club. Done it in only 15 games as well, gotta be one the quickest to achieve that feat.
