Out of interest on the subject of new signings does anyone know when we will see the usual pictures of the new signings (this time Degen and Dossena obviously) with the new kit.

All ive seen is a picture with Degan and Rafa

Very true. Didnt think of that. Or even we could be signing another player using the money we already have and another £10 million once the crouch deal is done, it seems like its almost done now.

I say we smash our whole budged on these two Spaniards. May cost a bit but I'd rather that than anything else right now.
Keep our Spanish influence I say, and not to mention Spanish players are far better yet far cheaper than English players.

      Reina
      Arbeloa
      Alonso
      Silva
      Villa
      Torres

      Some can dream :-\
arbeloa isnt exactly what you'd call "dream" material is he? Is he???

I think he meant that he is apart of our Spanish armada, so he is worth the mention. Although i agree with you.

Not some good news from Valencia regarding David Villa and David Silva

      Quote
Villa & Silva will stay - Soriano
by Laurent Picard, 26 July 2008

Valencia president Vicente Soriano has assured fans that David Villa and David Silva will not move on this summer.

The duo have been linked to a host of clubs over the summer, with Tottenham and Real Madrid believed to be keen on striker Villa, and Atletico Madrid and Barcelona officially interested in winger Silva.

But Soriano, who was appointed as president this week, has vowed to keep his key players at El Mestalla.

“We are going to make sure that no important players leave Valencia,” Soriano told Las Provincias. “None of our stars will move on.

“We need to make some readjustments in the next few weeks,” Soriano added. “It’s all about sporting direction.”

it was inevitable that we wern't going to sign either of those 2. Shame though, would of been VERY exciting seein one of them at anfield this season.

According to online reports, a player-plus-cash deal has been agreed between the Reds and Aston Villa to bring Gareth Barry to Anfield.

Steve Finnan is said to be the only player involved in the exchange, along with £17.5million.

The Mail Online reports: The move is no surprise but the timing is, as Liverpool have still to sell to raise the relevant funds but know they have offers on the table for Jermaine Pennant and Yossi Benayoun.

Further interest has also been expressed in Andriy Voronin, Alvaro Arbeloa and Xabi Alonso.

Benitez made public his first bid for Aston Villa midfielder Barry in May and incurred the wrath of Villa boss Martin O’Neill.

Arsenal To Lose Out As Liverpool Agree Fee For Villa's Barry
      http://www.premiershiplatest.com/news/arsenal-lose-out-liverpool-agree-fee-vil-5512558.html

Liverpool have finally agreed a fee for England International Gareth Barry from Aston Villa on Wednesday, which should end one of the longest running transfer sagas of the summer, according to the Mail online.

Straight after signing Irish International Robbie Keane from Tottenham Hotspur in a reportedly £20million deal, the Reds have now agreed a fee of of £19million for the Villans captain , which will see Anfield full-back Steve Finnan travel the opposite way to Villa Park.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez had already had four bids turned down by Villa for Barry, but it now seems that Barry will finally make the switch to Anfield for £17.5million plus Finnan, who is valued at £1.5million by the Reds.

Premier League rivals Arsenal had been tracking the situation, but look to have lost out to Liverpool, which is where the England man had always stated was the club he wanted to join.

      He is valued 1.5m

Surely Finnan is valued at more than £0.5m? They wanted £18m altogether. Why not keep Finnan and just give them another £500,000. Why are we bowing down to Martin O'neill's stupid commands :S. Don't buy we dont need him I don't think.
