Why that? Does the media so often have the completely wrong information? I don't think so....
I take it as a good sign, cause I think Rafa is smart enough and clever enough to work a deal behind closed doors.
We don't know the extent of the relationship Rafa has with Valenica, obviously it's a good one. But for all we know Valencia could be willing to sell Villa for a cheaper price simply cause it's Rafa. They know they need the cash but the player has already said he doesn't want to go to Chelski. They know Villa would be happy at Liverpool and would welcome the opportunity to join up with Nando and he has voiced his desire to work under Rafa. Herego Valencia are willing to do a cheaper deal.
If you go in there all guns blazing your going to attrack attention and prices are going to go up. Rafa knows how to go into a deal and get the best price possible for a player.
Just wouldn't surprise me if Rafa has had some deals done for a few weeks but is waiting until after Euros for them to be announced.
Hell it wouldn't surprise me at all if Rafa had Villa done and dusted when it was reported he could be had for around 17m...not saying thats the way it is, just saying I wouldn't be surprised.
Ever heard the saying "Don't believe everything you read"
Just cause the papers don't report it, doesn't mean it isn't happening.
