I still think we can nick mo in january as a backup to the others... for nothing, especially if kean hasnt yet scored by then

What would be the point? we dont need him, we have enough strikers and players taht can play as a striker so we dont need anymore backup. We need a winger not another striker.

Torres, Keane, Kuyt, N'Gog, Voronin and Babel and then there is Nemeth.

He's demanding 140k a week to stay at the barcodes, sign him up now. We'll offer them 25 million too.

140k for somebody who is always injured..... cheeky get,

kuyts not a real striker anymore voranin should be sold, i hope keane scores soon, there is a case for the youngsters though,

my point was owen for nothing even if his wages cost 2.5 mill a year is still a bargain, if he can prove his fitness

gd player but do we really need him anymore?
his wages are ridiclous aswell and we have other strikers hu could be better than him (torres, keane, ngog, nemeth, pacheo)
i admit it would be awesome to have him back but unfortuantly i cant see it happening

£2 million, worth a pop? Wages may be a problem, may be on a basic, and then pay per play / performance/ goals?

Rather see Ngog, Babel and Nemeth given a run when available. We have 6 strikers capable of playing in the side, no need for another.

i'll always have time for Owen, as he was a great servant for the club and we never forget those, but he's not the player he was due to injury and we have to look forward, not back.  we don't need him as cover anymore.  he would cost to much in wages and we don'tt seem ti be flush with money at the moment.  money should be spenton wide payers.

I would be very angry cause the only reason he would come is if he was getting a BIG pay check cause thats all he is.....a money grabbing tosser!! There is no way we sould (if we do try to buy him) offer the kind of money that he has been offered at Toon cause he aint worth it.

Speculation is growing about the possible return of an Anfield legend. Many people have been discussing the growing possibility that Rafa may be turning to a certain Newcastle player who is yet to agree a new contract!

There is a lot of chat floating around about the future of Michael Owen, with several of you saying he could be on his way back to Liverpool. (BBC Sport)

“My mate Phil is a cabbie in Liverpool city centre and a season ticket holder at Anfield. He has it on very strong word that Rafa Benitez will sign a cut-price Michael Owen as cover for the injured Fernando Torres. Welcome back to the prodigal son.”
Gavin, Ellesmere Port, via text on 81111 (BBC Sport)

With Michael Owen stalling on a new contract, the Reds stuttering in front of goal and with Torres injured, would a move for Owen be so far-fetched? Apparently the 28-year-old would be available for as little as £3m and, whilst his wage demands would be high, he probably has a few more years in him and could be a potential bargain that could help the club get back into gear in attack
