A great guy who gave his all for is current club as I'm sure he will do for his new one, he's going to be sorely missed by club as well as fans (and my wife who loves blonds !).

Thanks for all the effort you put in Dirky - top man.  Always 100%+ and you ran your backside off for us and never complained or sulked about being played in a slightly unfamiliar position - although I think you made that right-sided forward position your own.  If there was ever a player who envisaged 'teamwork' you are it. 

Thank you too for all the very important goals you scored for us and for that famous hat-trick.

I wish you well in Turkey and hope the fans love you as much as we have - my only regret is that you didn't win more with us.

On the flipside, what a fantastic piece of business by Fenerbahce. I'm sure he'll be right at the top of their pay scale but they'd struggle to find a better player for £1m.

it's sad to see you go dirk. thanks for being everything to us. amazing value for under 1m that the turkish club have received. now i have a turkish club i can keep one eye on! anyone care to quickly summarize their options in attack as it stands now? will they bring in another striker? is someone there ideal to partner kuyt or will he patrol the right midfield like he did here?

i'll never forget how he played when torres left, the first game against chelsea where he was up top on his own and was everywhere and the games that followed where he linked up with suarez nicely and scored important goals and penalties for us (i don't think he missed a single one and recall him taking at least 5 in the second half of the year). you can't compliment the guy enough for the way he played for this jersey. thanks for everything dirk. I kind of expect him to play on the wing Del Boca Vista, as they have Moussa Sow for the striker position aswell.

Brought a tear to my eye.

Champions League nights will never be the same without those two.

Was probably the right time for him to leave, didn't have the best of seasons and his days of being one of the first names on the team sheet for us were probably over. Was a great asset to the club and can never fault his effort on the pitch, 110% all the time whether he was playing brilliant or awful. Good luck to him.

Would have liked more than just a million for him though!

Surprised he has gone, thought he had another season in him, maybe to help with the transition for Rodgers, always gives 110% no matter when he comes on. I guess he just isn't technical enough for Rodgers?

It's a shame he seemed to have lost his form a bit this season, will never forget Suarez's his hat rick verses Utd.

A lot of people talk of players who play for the shirt and their loyalty, but I can tell you that in my opinion, in my career as a coach, I don’t know of many players who have played for the Liverpool shirt like he did from the day he arrived to the last second he played for that red shirt. Never, not once, did he complain about having to play in a different role or out of position to help the cause. Not everyone can say the same.
