This fella sounds like something special, and on the left wing. Is he left footed or just played on the left. If he's left footed, added little bonus. Feet on the ground time now, level head and go all the way. Look forward to watching him.

He is left footed. Saw him swing in some sweet crosses

Let's hope he's not a Podolski and that he can turn in performances like that for Club as well as Country.
Safe to say he carved out the England team.

Well played Christopher! Head down, work hard and impress for the first team in future years.

Doesn't he play left back for us, could be a wasted talent there.

He does. I don't think I've seen him play LW for us.

      Good little clip that.

Yeah plays left back for us but that's no harm at all. It will strengthen the defensive side of his game and he could become the complete player because of it.

5 years time Insua overlapping Buchtmann in games causing havoc on the left could be a regular occurrence

Fair point acctually, that is certainly a mouth watering prospect if both players play to full expectation.

Looks like he could be a great prospect in the future. Has a decent left foot and even shot with his right foot.
Hope he can break into the first team :D

Better number 7 than Keane.  Just watching those clips on Youtube then came on here and realised people had already posted them.  Love his build up to the 3rd goal.  Seems so confident.

I hope to see a couple more of these lads feature in first team friendly's in the summer and make an appearance off the bench next season. Perhaps not Buchtmann yet, but Pacheco certainly. Don't know who else is ready yet...

Anyone notice how tone deaf the players where singing the national anthems? It was horrible. Haha.

      Buchtmann makes Germany breakthrough
Christopher Buchtmann picked a good time to score his first international goal on Wednesday night – putting Germany ahead on their way to a 3-1 victory against Turkey in their opening game as UEFA European Under-17 Championship hosts.

      Good feeling
Germany trailed early on but immediately equalised, and Buchtmann pounced on a loose ball eleven minutes into the second half to give his team the advantage in Erfurt before sending in the corner from which Shkodran Mustafi headed the clincher. "It is my first goal for Germany," Buchtmann told uefa.com. "I felt great about that."

      Support
More than 5,000 people were in the Steigerwaldstadion to salute Buchtmann's goal, one of the biggest crowds for any U17 finals fixture. The midfielder certainly appreciated the support. "It was very good to play in front of so many people," he said, and added: "It is a good start to the tournament, it gives us a lot of confidence. We were very nervous at the start but we got better and better and we showed what we can do. We will do all what we can to win the tournament."

      England encounter
They will be a step closer if they beat England in Jena on Saturday to confirm a semi-final berth with a game to spare, and having joined Liverpool FC from BV Borussia Dortmund last year, the fixture has special resonance for Buchtmann. "We are looking forward to playing England," he said. "I play for Liverpool, so it's great to play against them."

Germany one two-nil, he wasn't outstanding today, he was quieter than in previous games, he was playing in a free role, but still looked quality, he nearly scored at the end.
