I think that Stand-Up comedy is having a resurgence as of late, and IMO the man at the heart of it is one, Dane Cook the man is just soo dam funny. Por Example:

Some boss clips in this thread. I honestly hadn't heard of Dane Cook before - that first clip had me laughing about the fella getting knocked over and pretending to be alright.  :D

Ross Noble has to be the most random stand up's for a while though? He cracks me up.

(and someone post a good clip of Eddie Izzard for Watt. I know she's a fan)  ;)

I'm a huge fan of Sean Lock as he is so witty. I also love Dylan Moran who was excellent in Black books.

However if you want to see alternative wierd but hilarious comedy buy Snuff box on DVD, A great sketch show. It consist of the guy from mighty boosh and the boss in second series of IT Crowd. (Fulcher and Berry).

I would have to say that hands down one of the funniest stand up acts I've ever watched would be Robin Williams Live On Broadway. I couldn't stop laughing for 2 hours. Had me in tears.

Seen Strausman (sp?) live too, that was bloody hillarious.

The only impressions he did was of piss taking the French. A few footy piss takes. A lot of politics in there too.
He finished up with an on stage orgasim after having done his impression of oral sex on a lady. Brilliant stuff!

Has anyone ever seen John Bishop do stand up?

Seen him live once in Belfast I think it was and have seen all his stuff on youtube about 100 times. Best joke he's got on youtube is about "the Olympics where we were winning medals for things he'd never heard of. For example who did horse racing in school? Did your teacher ever tell you not to forget your horse?"

Another quality scouse stand up is Jackie Hamilton. He's boss. I love Eddie Colington as well, he's made me cry with laughter at times.

      'Tis!

Another part I like in it is when he's on about 'guys secrets'. His facial expressions are spot on!

Anyone else find Russell Howard rather unfunny? I could tolerate him at first but the more I see of him the more annoying he becomes, he's really popular with girls my age it seems and the younger teenagers aswell.

I've just seen him on his BBC three program "Good News" or whatever it's called, That over the top, far out comedy he does is really cringe worthy and just crap really.

John Bishop is my favorite comedian at the moment, he's awesome on a league of their own too.

Small doses.  He can be a bit silly at times for my liking.

There are other comedians out there at the moment who are much more intellectual and leave you thinking 'how on Earth did they come up with that', whereas with Russell it's often based around noises and gestures.

Yeah exactly, he can be alright on occasions when he doesn't go overboard, when I've seen him doing solo stand up type things It is too much, It seems silly to say he's trying to hard when every comedian wants a laugh but that's the impression I get with him, get's a bit too childish.

I've become a big fan of Rhod Gilbert recently, seen his stand-up dvd and his new program on BBC is pretty funny too. I'd like to see more of John Bishop's stand up from what I've seen of him he's hilarious. Jason Manford deserves a mention too, he's one of the best around at the moment.
