Aw mate I remember them 'boys' Yosser Hughes, 'gis a job', et al, funniest scene for me was in the confessional box, with 'Dan',  I'm Desperate, Dan, I swear I fu**ed cracked, one of the funniest lines ever, Alan Bleasdale, simply brilliant, but like you said sad times too, never forget either social services taking 'Yossers ' kids away, not a dry eye in the house,

Oh and btw, fantastic pics all of them, I've saved them all for my lad, so one day he can look back at our history and admire and appreciate all those glory days.

That is one of the funniest things ever.

It should be remembered that those were dark days, very dark, and although this was a comedy, it did portray the plight of a lot of Liverpudlians.

Still as relative today as it was in the 80s. Love the fact that the fella nicknamed "Dixie" Dean is a mad Red. His lads got pictures of all the 60s players on his wall.

Yes it was very dark days Pups, days I remember only to well, being from Glasgow my city folk and indeed country folk are all to familiar with those 'dark days' of high unemployment, poverty, hopelessness all thanks to that f***in bi*ch Thatcher and her anti working class government !!

It's why I have such an affinity with Scouse folk, Liverpool and Glasgow very similar cities in many ways as I'm sure you are aware.

Props to Balo for turning up to training at a time when he would be forgiven for shutting off from football entirely for a short while.
