Don't forget folks 18th of October for Wave Machines' next gig. (I'll be there for free as usual.) The theme is a funeral, so wear black. Apparently Wave Machines are going to be carrying this poet Nathan threw the church in a coffin. Should that be allowed? Ah well it has been by Rev. Guy and me mam who's the church warden, so it's alright by me.

Other than that though the lads are pretty busy releasing their second single "The Greatest Escape We Ever Made" which comes out on the 27th of October and just to top it off they're launching the release of the single at the Royal Albert Hall on the 30th. Not bad for them eh.

There's another Family Folk Up at St Brides Church this Saturday (today) which again includes the Random Family and some other big name artists in the folk music. Not sure if it's an all ticket affair or not, sorry.

I do know however that I've got me free invite ;D curtousey of being the caretaker/security for the church on most nights.

Other news on the bands from St Brides, Wave Machine have released their album and I've got to say it's quite decent. Again being the caretaker has it's perks as I got me free copy off the boys ;D. Although not so long ago Accidents Waiting To Happen called it a day and went back home to Norway as their lead gutairist Martin was getting married.

Troubadours, bit Beatles-esq, doing well for themselves. Supported The Enemy and Paul Weller recently, so good on them. The bassist is from my end too (Sunny Runcorn haha) so gotta support the local lad!

      Here's my band www.myspace.com/skeletonshollow

Sadly tho, based in bloody scum land, but get good banter with the bassist, he aint a bitter manc like most of them. Oh the joy I had when we won 4-1 and I was in a Manc pub, oh the joy!!!

So I know these dutch 2 kids from the town I grew up in, knew they started a band a few years back, seen them perform a few times in local bars, they're pretty good. So I'm watching tv a few months back, and I see this:

      The Death Letters @ DWDD

The same 2 kids, they're booming in my country, good for them. They're 17 and 18, wouldn't tell from the way they rock.

The Death Letters, is what they're called. Here's their myspace: http://www.myspace.com/thedeathlettersrock

Merseyside acts at Tromso Sound City in Norway

      http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-13019859

Merseyside musicians are preparing to take to the stage at Norway's Tromso Sound City festival.

Miles Kane and Wave Machines will travel to the northern Norwegian city for the two day festival.

A collaboration with Liverpool Sound City, the groups have been booked because of Norway's passion for electronic music and their success in the UK.

Tromso Sound City 2011 takes place on 15 and 16 April, 2011.

      Emerging artists
Will Sergeant and The Whip are amongst the UK acts also playing the festival with the remainder of the bands coming from Norway and Scandinavia.

"The artists we are taking over act as the honey pot for all of the emerging artists that are playing from Norway and Scandinavia," organiser Dave Pichilingi told BBC Radio Merseyside.

"Tromso Sound City gives acts a chance to show people from the music industry what they do.

"We'll be bringing some of the rising stars of Tromso over to Liverpool Sound City next month."

Tim Bruzon, frontman of Wave Machines said that the group were looking forward to what will be their first show of the year.

Liverpool bands will perform at the festival at Tromso in Norway
"Liverpool Sound City is great but it's on our doorstep.

"International flights make everything more exciting", he told BBC Radio Merseyside.

Dave Pichilingi says the Norway festival is similar to Liverpool Sound City which celebrates both emerging bands and already established artists.

"Miles Kane is definitely an ascending artist at the moment. We gave him his first show in America and he will be playing at Liverpool Sound City 2011 too.

"Waves Machines and The Whip are popular both here and in Norway because of their electronic sounds."

"Our corner of the UK has been responsible for some of the greatest talent in the UK and so we have the reputation and credibility to put on a festival like this.

"Tromso shares this bolshie attitude. They wanted to do something that was theirs, and shout out from the hilltops about how great Tromso's music scene is too."

More information is on the Tromso Sound City.

Proper made up for Wave Machines la, boss little band and four proper nice fellas. Good for Vidar, their drummer, to be performing in his homeland as well.
