Haiti looks like it took the brunt of that storm.

Apparently not. It has strengthened significantly as it bears down to Florida according to the news.

Looks like it's turning a bit north which is good...if it stays offshore it may not be that bad inland (Orlando), gonna be a problem for coastal communities though. Crazy thing now...it's going to skirt the coast to the Carolinas, then make a uturn and come right back for Florida...probably exit the state just south of me at Naples.

I've been on a wonderful 4 day cycle around Islay with my mates stopping at the majority of the below

Wonderful place, absolutely beautiful. Delighted to get to see Laphroaig too as I've been a huge fan of their whiskey for a few years now. Picturesque scenery and fantastic whiskey. Would recommend to all whiskey lovers.

Was a great experience, the boat over isn't too expensive at all. We stayed in a hostel in Port Charlotte for the first while and then camped at Port Ellen for the last stretch. The island is great for cycling, roads are excellent mostly, few rough patches but mainly ok, especially down by the 3 distilleries at the bottom as there is a cycle path from Port Ellen Maltings that goes through Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg. Laphroaig was the best tour for me, followed by Bowmore. Kilchoman was really nice too because it's so much smaller than the others, was only founded in 2005. Great to see the different ways they make whiskey. Most expensive tour was £10, food and drink easily available. Honestly a great wee time. One thing is that no matter what way we cycled there seemed to be a fierce head wind at some stage, but nothing you can't get through.

Ardbeg is a great drop as well.

      Love Islay Malts.

I live in Crete so don't feel the need for a holiday luckily enough but do visit the UK twice a year to catch up with family and friends.

Sure the people of Rhyl feel exactly the same...

As for me, I'm off to Valencia at the end of the month for some sunshine and paella.

      Love Islay Malts.

Was real interesting them talking about why the island itself was almost made for Whiskey, so many elements that go into it are exclusive to the island.

Planning a short break with the missus in one of Belgium, France or the Netherlands at the end of September.

Any suggestions outside of the major capitals would be very welcome. (And not the South of France as we've done that.)

Off to Scotland to visit family for the upcoming bank holiday as well. Looking forward to visiting my favourite chippy!

Supposedly I get the original flight costs back, but not straight away. £320 out of pocket at present, for new, not direct flights and transfers.

Had to pay, I need the holiday.
