Anyone considering playing this on release(18th September)?

Have preordered it with Play.com at 拢29.99 & if anyone is thinking of getting this on the forums we could begin our own guild ;)

Signed up for the beta but never heard anything.  Going to give this a go.  I'd be up for a guild but I'm not the king of these games.

Same here JD - no beta invite.

Any idea what career you are going to follow etc?

Decided to role a Witch Hunter on the side of order. Very Van Helsing...

Nice...not sure if we have too many MMO players here on the forums - I know Jabba was one but he hasn't been around for a year or so on this forum.

WAR seems to be geared towards PvP/RvR play with PvE also, just hope the bugs are to a minimum on release ;)

      I haven't done it yet.

I'll have a look at some of the deals at the end of this month when I am pre-ordering FIFA.  I think that's going to be it on the 'new' games front until 2009.

I get a good feeling about Warhammer - it may well take a percentage of players from WoW - as all new MMOs do but this time I think WAR has enough to hold players there, rather than they return to WoW once the novelty wears off,

There's a chance my work mates are running a order guild, would you be interested JD if a guild doesn't form from the forum?

Was speaking to a couple of hardcore WoW'ers today in work and they didn't even realise it was out next month, and they were also a bit put off by what they say is 'very high specs' needed to run it.

What do you think on that?

      And yes Re: Guild.

The basic requirements are higher than WoW but not by much, here's the minimum:

      PC SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

      For Windows XP

路 2.5 GHz P4 (single core) processor or equivalent
      路 1 Gigabyte RAM
路 A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
路 At least 15 GB of hard drive space

      For Windows VISTA

      路 2.5 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
      路 2 Gigabyte RAM
路 A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
路 At least 15 GB of hard drive space

      Supported Video Cards

      ATI Radeon(TM) series

      路 9500, 9600, 9800
      路 X300, X600, X700, X800, X850
      路 X1300, X1600, X1800, X1900, X1950
      路 2400, 2600, 2900,
      路 3650, 3850, 3870
      路 4850, 4870

      NVIDIA GeForce series

      路 FX 5900, FX 5950
      路 6600, 6800,
      路 7600, 7800, 7900, 7950
      路 8400, 8500, 8600, 8800
      路 9400, 9500, 9600, 9800
      路 GTX 260, GTX 280

      Intel(R) Extreme Graphics

      路 GMA X4500

Laptop versions of these chipsets may work, but may run comparatively slowly. Standalone cards that are installed in vanilla PCI slots (not PCIe or PCIx or AGP), such as some GeForce FX variants, will perform poorly. Integrated chipsets such as the ATI Xpress and the NVIDIA TurboCache variants will have low settings selected, but should run satisfactorily.

Please note that attempting to play the game using video hardware that isn鈥檛 listed above may result in reduced performance, graphical issues or cause the game to not run at all.

The NVIDIA GeForce FX series is unsupported under Vista.

Not getting much of a positive reaction from current WoW players at work - only 1 will be trying it! So a guild with them looking unlikely.

To be honest, I'm probably best steering clear of games like this! :D

I'm bad enough on the likes of MGO and the forum! :D Me missus doesn't see me enough! ;D

Sounds promising though, although from the sounds of how well WoW is doing, it'll do well to take some gamers from it and actually keep them.

JD - this is a great site to check if your PC can handle a game title:

      http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/

My PC passes against WAR but fails against PC games like Bioshock which I already knew but thought to check this site for reliability. Looks solid ;)

Out of interest, can you descramble this DM?

      Quote
      CPU
Minimum: 2.5 GHz Pentium 4 processor or equivalent
      You Have: 2 processors running - Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 4300 @ 1.80GHz  PASS

      CPU Speed
      Minimum: 2.5 GHz
You Have: 1.79 GHz Performance Rated at 4.04 GHz  PASS

Does this mean that my two 1.8 dual core is acting like a 4.04GHz PC?
