World's First 8MP Camera-phone

Samsung, surprisingly, on the 1st September.

It looks a beast.  I've got a Samsung at the minute and I'm not too keen - with its silly headphone sockets - but this one looks much better and 8MP!! That's better than my 'actual' camera.

First of all I agree it looks a mean camera , but if we're talking 8MP here and thats quite some quality ! why are we bothering linking it to a phone you could buy an 8MP camera far cheaper than you could if it was linked to a phone ! and before annybody starts I know they come free on contract but your still paying one way or the other !

Gps features and you can't check email on a camera.

Plus you do tend to get a lot of calls etc on a contract too.

You don't take a camera everywhere

Correct me if I'm wrong but you cant take a phone underwater ! whereas a camera can be waterproof !

It's all about convenience Frizzby mate. People are more likely to carry a mobile phone around with them these days than a camera. And not that many people go underwater compared to being on dry land do they? Or do they?

That's a monster of a phone. I've never liked slide phones though. I'm too old fashioned.

  Samsung will have to get off their arse and create a waterproof phone then mate! There's obviously a gap in the market. 

I wouldn't have have anywhere to put it if I had one 

I find you cant go wrong with a Motorola camera phone even if it does leave an unsightly bulge in your jacket!



I actually have the Nokia N95 8GB and dont use it for half the things it can do and if I'm out i rarely even remember to use the camera on my phone anymore, granted i often forget to take the thing out as it is sometimes feels like I'm being electronically tagged

Looks class, had a samsung bt decided to change it for a sony ericcson due to memory, if samsung can get the memory increased then they have me

Me sis is getting it when it comes out, she's one of those materialistic people and all. I cant wait to see its camera and how laggy it can get with all the gizmo's.

Looks like a boss phone. Here's hoping it's not like most other Samsungs and doesn't break shortly after purchase!
