Breaking news on ITV that Keegan has officially left.  Was he sacked or was it mutual consent?

Gotta feel sorry for him.  What a joke the owners of Newcastle are.  Since when did stadium capacity determine how big a club is.

This is why we support Rafa, do you see him walking when he doesn't get the support of the owners?  No.  He stays to complete the job he's paid to do.   Thats why we all love him (well most of us  ;)).

He's been sacked, although a bet the fact that he had no say in transfers is whats behind it, I mean imagine having to listening to some tool like denise wise telling him who they should go after.

      Quote from: Sky News
Newcastle United Football Club has released a statement denying it has sacked Kevin Keegan.

A statement released on the club website says it wants to keep Keegan at the club.

"For the avoidance of doubt the club has not sacked Kevin Keegan," the statement says.

"The club wants to keep progressing with its long-term strategy and would like to stress that Kevin is extremely important, both now and in the future.

Independent Newcastle United Supporters Association's Frank Gilmour highlighting how Keegan quit in 1997 over off-pitch interference

"Newcastle United values the effort and commitment shown by Kevin since his return and wants him to play an instrumental role as manage of the club."

The statement does not say whether Keegan has decided to stay or leave the club.

Sky sources had said earlier that Keegan had been sacked.

Keegan was appointed Newcastle manager for a second time on January 16 after the sacking of Sam Allardyce.

As a player, he had enjoyed a glittering career with Liverpool, Newcastle and England, retiring in 1984.

But he returned to the game as Newcastle boss in 1992 before also going on to manage Fulham, England and Manchester City.

He went back to St James' Park earlier this year but was thought to be unhappy with restructuring at the club which saw Dennis Wise appointed as executive director (football).

Geordie folk-hero Keegan recently claimed James Milner would not be sold - only for the midfielder to join Aston Villa in a £12m deal.

But, having been unable to add to the signings of Argentinian pair Fabricio Coloccini and Jonas Gutierrez with several big-name stars, he was believed to have become disillusioned with his lot at Newcastle.

Fans blasted Newcastle's board over the news

This is getting interesting. I'm willing to bet he's left again.

This one's gonna run and run, Newcastle claiming they haven't sacked him and he's still the manager.

Give the job to Terry Mac!!

Yet again it's always someone else's fault.

You should never return to manage another club again, although no doubt in about five years time you'll be back at Newcastle when they've been through another 10 managers.

it seems he was pressed to leave.
Their board simply wanted to show it's not their intention to sack Keegan, they feared fans reactions.
But we know that more often the board it's not people interested in football, but in money they can pump out from the club.

Who'll be the next after Kevin?

who'll be the Hammers' coach too?

Yes, but are the Yanks selling our best players? No, they basically told Chelsea to F**k off when they were interested. Mike Ashley is whoring Newcastles best players around.
