For Footballers only - HOW TO-s
      Oct 19, 2008 04:29:17 pm
Guess, i haven't seen a thread about football tips for footballers.

I'm love to play football. I played for a club and represented it in Singapore when i was 11 years old. My local friends have related me to Xabi cause i can shoot from far out and make good passes with both feet. And they have really told me that i have the intelligence of Cesc Fabregas. Although i lack height (160-170 cm), i have led my club team as a captain but not great comebacks yet :P

      However i lack one thing,
Does anyone know how to slide tackle? I play at my local park often and sliding tackles are uncommon.

You slide along the ground.  And then tackle.

Yes! That is one of my areas of expertise. I can shoot from long range as well as be clinical from close range, can pass the ball long and short with both feet, my heading isn't bad but i just love slide tackling. You just have to heep your eye on the ball at all times, then pressure your opponent bit wider than his preferred route and then slide at angle to knock the ball away. The one thing i would love to do is slide an opponent and winning the ball, then get up quickly and run with the ball. I play for my school and local team too as well as with my friends in the park.

Slide tackle's are easy so long as you time them right. If you are struggling with them then i would recommend improving your timing

Thanks for the tips all :) yeah, since its just a park game, and we aren't pros or semi pros, we never use the sliding tackle. It was very inspiring when Stevie G does it , he wins the ball and then counter attacks.

Move him to where you want him to be, your natural movement will then click in and you'll find it easier. It worked for me but it wont work for all.

Yeah, it is usually hot and dry in my country, so dry field = hurts ass when sliding. Hopefully i can do it when it rains heheh

Ronaldo stole the way i take free kicks!, i done that deep breath thing since i was 10! I have always hit frees from distance with the laces aswell. Its all about.... trying to put your foot through the ball if you no what i mean, not just hitting as hard as you can though make sure to follow threw with your kicking foot and hit it just below the centre and i usually go for a bit of slice aswell seems to get it up and down well.

Bannana kick im not sure what you mean by ??? do you mean the cross when you cross your right foot over your left to cross or vice versa

banana kick = let's say a curve like you take a corner and it goes into the goal

Oo thats what i do for close in free-kicks.

Well place the ball. Take 2 steps back, 4 the left (if your right footed) and try and hit the ball to the left hand side of it and it should curl
