I think the likes of Ebdon, Robertson and Dott are there just to make the numbers up. I don't think those three will cause any danger.

Never rule out the sea bird! (Ebdon)  ;) :D

Nah Ebdon's gone mate, since he won the World Champs in 02 he's gone downhill in my opinion. Currently he's provisionally number 16, so another bad ranking tournament could see him outside the top 16 for next season.

Graham Dott is down to number 41  :o

Yeah, I know Ebdon's gone mate, just couldn't resist calling him a sea bird.  ;)

Whatever happened to Dott. Can't believe he's down to 41 now! He looked like he was on the up the other year!

I don't think breaking his wrist, forcing him out of the Grand Prix (I think it was) has helped Dott. He's another who never really built on his World Championship success.

      The Masters started today.

Stephen Maguire came from 5-2 down to beat fellow Scot Graham Dott 6-5. Other match is Ronnie v Joe Perry, currently 5-5 in frames but O'Sullivan is at the table with the score 30-4 to Ronnie.

EDIT: Ronnie has won the final frame to book his place in the next round.

John Higgins against Marco Fu was a great match. John coming out on top in the end, thanks to a fluke.

Day v Allen first four frames were outstanding, at such a quick speed. Just watching the highlights of the other frames on BBC2. Mark Allen won 6-1 and was outstanding, the best player I've seen so far in the Masters this year.

Hendy hasn't looked a shade of what he's capable of either. Then again I rememeber him in the 90s being unstoppable so maybe I'm being a bit unfair on him.

No, I'd agree with you on that mate. That last frame he had more than one opportunity to take advantage and he didn't look himself.

Looking a lot stronger now though. Robertson is looking like he's caving in. Just split all the reds open for Hendry to take advantage.

      Selby's a dude isn't he.

Tell you what though, Allen looks a very good player.

This could go either way, easily.

      Currently 4-3 to Allen.

And right now Selby might just win the 8th game to make it 4-4.

Could be a good frame here. Allen's played the safety but the reds have opened up....doesn't look like much is on though.

Fantastic to watch, glad I got to.

Allen played great snooker throughout the match except the last two frames, which saw him go from 5-4 up to losing 6-5. He was taking on pots that were nearly impossible to make and when you only need that final frame those more difficult pots become even harder. His safety in the last frame wasn't bad and he was unlucky for Selby to pot a red when getting out of a snooker.

Well played to Selby, looks the real deal and he's only 24. Maybe worth a punt for the World's. Really like Selby as a player because he seems to enjoy himself while he's playing. Anybody who doesn't like snooker, should sit down and watch this match.

It was as good as it got in terms of scoring, now I expect another top class game between Higgo and Ding. Maybe a tad more tactical with someone like Higgins playing, but Ding is another of the young generation who take on every pot. I'm just about to settle down to it. So lets get the boys on the baize

If Ronnie is on form, he'll be unstoppable but because Ronnie is the obvious choice I'm gonna stick me neck out and say Ali Carter will win at Wembley.

      Oh the irony eh mate!

The match between Ronnie and Ali was so intense to start with. Loads of safety and Ronnie didn't look like he was up for any long pots.
Sadly, Ali looked like he crumbled and missed some very important blacks in key stages of the match. I was hoping he was going to keep focused to keep the match tight. But you know what happens if you give Ronnie a few chances. He'll take you apart.

The semi's between O'Sullivan v Maguire and Selby v Higgins should be very good to watch!

Personally, I reckon it'll be an O'Sullivan - Higgins final.
