I was close. Had a couple of pound on Gerrard first scorer and 2-0. Another goal late on would have netted me £52 back. I will get them Wednesday - mark my words!!!

Liverpool v Portsmouth
Liverpool win 2/5 Draw = 3/1 Portsmouth win 7/1 !
Scores
Reds 1-0 or 2-0 = 9/2 Reds 2-1 = 7/1 Reds 3-0 = 8/1
First Scorer
Gerrard 13/2 Kuyt 9/2 Crouch 5/1 Agger 28/1
Liverpool to score in both halves = 6/4. (Decided to put my free £20 bet on this - fingers crossed for a £70 return).
I have also had £2 on Kuyt first scorer and us to win 3-1 (40/1).
Oh and a bit of an update on some other general odds.
Liverpool to win the Premiership = 80/1.... to win FA Cup =13/2 to win Carling Cup = 9/2 to win Champions League = 22/1. Kuyt top Premiership scorer = 25/1...
But surely the wildest bet, definitely worth a couple of quid of my money is this one.
Liverpool to be less than 13 points off the top at the end of the season is ..... 100/1. The cheeky sods. I'm gonna shove a tenner back down their throats for that one. Gonna enjoy taking that grand off them.

Done. Just laid that bet at the bottom - got 140/1. Am I alone in thinking that was massively overpriced odds? Potential winnings = £1390. I will buy all the regulars a pint if it comes in...

Charlton v Liverpool (16th December 2006 @ 12:45pm)Here we go - some early bets for this weekends reds clash Liverpool to win 8/13 Charlton to win 9/2 The draw = 5/2 Draw at half time - Liverpool to win by full time (3/1) Charlton winning at half time - Reds to win (18/1) The favoured scorelines are Reds 1-0 (6/1) and 2-0 (6/1). You can get 3-0 or 3-1 at (11/1) First scorer - most of the main reds are under 8/1 but Gonzalez is at 9/1, and Daniel Agger who I always have a little bet on these days is 25/1. Alonso is 14/1 and Carragher 33/1.... My bet for this weekend: Kuyt first scorer and reds to win 2-1 (and same for 2-0) = 100/1. I have had £2.50 on it.

Tottenham v Liverpool (30th December 2006 3pm)
The bookies have the reds as marginal favourites (which considering how a) crap we have been and b) how long it is since we won at Spurs) I find slightly odd but
Liverpool win 6/4 Spurs 17/10 Draw 11/5
Liverpool or Spurs to win 1-0 is 13/2. 2-0 to the reds is 12/1 (!) and 3-0 to the reds is 33/1.
The 0-0 draw is 7/1 and 1-1 is the favoured scoreline at 9/2.
Our bet for the Michael Shields fund (see the first post) is going to be £1 on Kuyt first scorer and 2-0 to the reds (odds of 45/1). We haven't had a good win since the Reading game (but then we haven't layed too many bets since then - fingers crossed for tomorrow)

No luck for us this time round. The bookies got it right.
£1 on 1-0 would have netted £7.50 with your stake back.

Liverpool v Bolton
Yet again it's a good time to NOT be a Liverpool supporter at the bookies.
I know we have a good record at home but Bolton at 5/1 for the win. They are above us in the league (for now). Crazy.
So the reds are a crap 4/7 for the win - the draw slightly better value at 13/5.
3-0 to the reds is a miserly 10/1. 2-1 is 7/1.
To be honest the betting isn't great for this one - the Bookies think we are in line to batter them. If I had the heart I would have a couple of quid on the draw but I can't be bothered this week.
First Scorer Steven Gerrard and 2-1 to the reds = 35/1. Maybe I will have a quid on it.

Little update for you after the weekends results..The reds are now 33/1 for the title. And we have been slashed to 7/2 to finish in the top 2. We are also 33/1 to win the Champions League. Victor Chandler are offering up to £50 in free bets when you register (they basically match your first bet with a free bet of the same value). You could stick a tenner on us to finish top two and then stick your free ten pound bet on us to win the title. Or the Champions League

Liverpool v Barcelona (at the Nou Camp!)Liverpool are the big outsiders for the win tomorrow night at 11/2. A £10 bet will give you £65 back if the reds win. The draw is at a fairly decent 11/4. For first goalscorer - 7 Barcelona players are better odds than the first Liverpool player in the list - Kuyt and Crouch at 10/1. A 0-0 draw is 9/1 A 1-1 draw is 13/2 But a 2-1 win to the reds is a massive 25/1. That looks decent enough for us. Liverpool have a 30% of qualifying to the next round - odds of 12/5. It's not often you get such good odds on the reds so we're going to have a wee bet. Our bet: Liverpool to win £5 at 11/2 -> potential returns = £32.50 Also: Liverpool to draw: £5 at 11/4 -> potential returns = £18.75 and Liverpool to win 2-1 £5 at 25/1 -> potential returns = £130 There's just over a hundred quid in free bets with the following bookmakers Coral - Free £10 bet when you sign up. Paddy Power - Free £10 bet when you sign up Victor Chandler - Free £50 bet when you sign up Euro Bet - Up to £20 added to your account when you sign up SportingOdds - £30 in free bets when you sign up

For those who don't know what a scorecast bet is I'll explain. You need to pick the 1st goal scorer and the correct score to win. NOT easy. Just been looking on the Victor Chandler website and found this: Riise John Arne - Liverpool 1 - 0 60/1 Riise John Arne - Liverpool 2 - 0 545/1 Riise John Arne - Liverpool 2 - 1 65/1 Riise John Arne - Liverpool 3 - 0 65/1 Riise John Arne - Liverpool 3 - 1 70/1 Riise John Arne - Liverpool 3 - 2 175/1 Pretty sure that the odds for 2-0 should be 54/1 not 545/1. It accepted my £2 though, so a bet is a bet in my eyes. COME ON GINGER

Mr Tommo on the button there! We are pretty much evens with most of the bookmakers for the final, as are Milan. Split right down the middle.

Only just spotted this that was an excellent choice. You picked a fair few last season in various threads. Should really make an effort to keep them all in this thread next season. Do some decent odds before each game and stuff. I'll lend a hand. Just had a bet on Liverpool to win the title next season... Believe it or not - the reds are a miserly 4/1...!! Stuck a tenner on it anyway. I can't remember us having such short odds as that for a while. Considering we have bought nobody yet, everyone in the World hates us and Rafa is hardly having the time of his life - I find the odds surprising. Everton. 150/1 for the same. We're 11/2 to win the FA Cup.

Here we go with some good-uns Paddy Power with their 'Fernando Torres' specials!5/4 Torres to score on his Premiership debut 8/11 To score 15 goals or less in Prem Evens To score 16 or more goals in Prem (needs to have started 20 games or more for bets to be valid) 66/1 Torres to score a goal from his own half in the Premiership season! 1st goal5/1 Header 2/1 Left Foot 8/13 Right Foot 16/1 Torres to be PFA Player of the Year 33/1 Liverpool to win Premiership & Torres to be Prem top scorer 5/6 Torres to score his first goal at Anfield in front of the Kop 33/1 Torres and Bellamy to have a training ground bust up before start of Premiership season (must be reported on Sky Sports News!) Some good bets there. If you sign up with Paddy then you can get £10 in free bets. Worth a punt (especially that title one!)

Oh, and the reds are:
125/1 to win the FA Cup, League and European Cup treble
25/1 to do the double
300/1 to win all four.

Liverpool v DerbyThe reds are 5/1 ON to win, with Derby a massive 16/1 to get three points! The draw is 5/1. Practically the entire Liverpool team is shorter odds to score the first goal than any Derby player. Most of the reds are less than 7/1. Riise is at 14/1 and Benayoun is at 12/1. 2-0 or 3-0 to the reds is about 6/1. Even a 4-0 walloping only gets you about 10/1. If anybody finds a decent value bet then let us know. I've gone for Ryan Babel scoring a goal and getting a yellow card - priced at 14/1. Odds from Paddy Power (offering up to a £20 bonus when you register)

Reds 5/2 to win the title. But still priced at 16/1 to do the double. I've gone for Ryan Babel scoring a goal and getting a yellow card - priced at 14/1.

Unlucky lad. I think 6-0 was about 22/1 but I reckon a few fellas probably had a go at it.
Considering we haven't won the league since 1990 though the 5/2 looks a bit miserly.

Those who like flutter on first goalscorer may want to note that Willy Hills now do Each-way betting on this market.
More so they offer half the odds for the first 3 goals of the game which a think is a belting offer and am not surpsied that other bookies do not offer this E/W bet.
For example throughout the season Torres will average around the 4/1 mark to be 1st goalscorer. But even if he doesn't get that first goal you've still got a 2/1 place bet on the next 2 goals in the game.
I think the E/W bet especially at half the odds is a real no-brainer and if placing a bet on that market would be silly not to take. Espcecially for those who pick not an obvio | | |
