There are some minor alterations, the away end is definatly bigger, and I think the corners are better filled in.

What bothers me is this:
We have now got an extra 11,000 seats AND reduced the cost by £150.

Now forgive me for being slightly synical, but that does not add up!!!!

What is it built out of........lego!

If the Yanks have manged to pull that off then they are better buisnessmen than they are football club owners, but then I suppose that has already be proven.

I think it is spin personally, but I will reserve judgement for a while.

Listen, FFS, when you are dealing with something that big, there are lots of places you can save money on.

oh thank god for that! It still doesn't look great, but I can appreciate it's location and the design now. Thanks for the info.

My concern was exactly the same as yours StevieGforce, that the almighty pound had dictated the design and selling the heart of this club to the corporate whore.

Screen and Smoke come to mind.

So they will give us a better stadium within a drastically reduced budget...

Spin, is exactly what this is.  They have done this to win us over again, I bet the new stadium will not look like this.

Also can it be expanded?  And can we get permission for a 71,000 seater stadium.

I don't trust them anymore

So they spent more money on revised plans and gave a contract to the American company {which they now have to offer} just to make life difficult for the fans?

Do me a favour........

Scratching my head here girls and boys... How have they managed to fit an extra 11,000 seats in?

F**k knows.

When construction time comes around that's the time to assess it.

Obviously a well pointed out smoke screen.  They must think we are the most gullible wankers to believe that new design.

JD I think the extra seats are at the "away end" plus some seats appear to have been added in the corners, BUT WHAT ARE THE EXEC BOXES DOING IN THE KOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently they are a disabled viewing area, (but still looks stupid).

« Reply #14 on: January 25, 2008, 02:21:40 PM »

I'm happy with it! Shocked

At the end of the day, this is the final design. It looks a lot more of a stadium than the last lot of pictures. Regardless of whether or not the American's are/were selling up or staying, these plans are Liverpool Football Club's. And it'll make me proud on a matchday, and that's all that matters! Smiley

The roof is certainly different which makes me think have they cut back on making the accustics of the ground an important factor.

Then there's extra seats in the corners. Apart from that, looks pretty much the same to me.

Wonder when these plans will get scrapped?

It looks like that.

It appears to be less intimidating in terms of being tight and packed as such and more like any other ground.

Some comparisons of the designs.  Still can't spot the 11,000 extra seats.  You would have to say away end - doesn't help that one of the original pics was simulated for a night game.

I must say though.  That night pic doesn't half look stunning.

I don't agree to having a big row of executive boxes in the Kop.

Funny, but last time we had loads of comments from the players and the manager about how excited they were.

Why none of that today?   f_whistle

The day we all dreaded has come to pass. Unfortunately, as we were all hoping against hope, the Yanks have weighed their anchor. It is a sad day for Liverpool FC and it's loyal fans.

The club is now fronted by a pair of self centered, lying back stabbers. Harsh in the light that a new stadium will finally get built and more importantly Rafa keeping his job Smiley BUT and this is a massive but, Liverpool FC is forever tainted by the goings on of the past 6 months. I just can't wrestle any thoughts of happiness from any corner of my brain right now. I feel like it's come to a big 'So what?' The ironic timing of the delivery of the stadium plans and refinancing details are nothing short of a contradictory collision of words... No debt to the club when building the new stadium? Pure lies!

It should be a day of celebration - a brand new stadium that most clubs would die for but after the false dawn since the last revelations of the stadium plans and the sh*t Rafa and the boys have been through I feel quite numb and very upset. The fans have not even been addressed or informed by the owners and that shows a huge amount disrespect to them. Nothing but sh*t and lies then a big 'look at this' (that should make them happy) from the idiots playing monopoly with OUR CLUB! I don't even feel bothered to care right now (but I do!)

The very fact corporate boxes run through the centre of 'The Kop' says it all to me. The Kop is Liverpool Fc's iconic representation of the passion felt by the fans for their club. It is a huge insult to to have it infiltrated this way. The Kop is unique but again the Yanks have fu**ed it up! They are so out of touch with the fans it is untrue!  Angry f_steam And then there are the naming rights to consider... that should be fun...

It is worth noting that most of us will visit the new stadium but how will we actually feel when we reflect on the journey we have taken to get to that point as a fan. Will our emotions have been brushed under the carpet as we take our seats for our fist match in the new stadium? I guess not. Tainted and with a very bitter taste in the mouth is my guess. These feelings will pass but this episode will never be forgotten. RED1028

I guess so mate but I could be wrong too. Disabled fans would need easy access and exit to their area in the respect of health and safety, no lifts in case of emergency. I was recently at the Emirates on row 26 behind the goal. There was a disabled section to my right and the reason why I think they could be that high up was because the ground at the end of the stadium where I was was level with the ground on outside of the stadium.

Executive boxes on the Kop? Fans, scarfs, big banners and lots of noise for me not the prawn sandwich brigade in their air con suites...  Sad

To be honest there is not much difference, and we are a fickle lot, the BS would be loving this, plus they would love a ground like the one we are gonna get. The way the yanks are going to save money is peddle, Bud or Coors I guess, with dunkin' donuts, and have monster truck racing at half time!  What matters is were we will be at the end of the season and who will be manager!
