Best way to get to Lime Street

Im sure you all know that after a Liverpool match its not always the easiest of tasks to get anywhere, i usually need to get a train home so i need to get to lime street. Whats the best way of getting there on a match day? Is there any bus route or local taxi company?

After a game? Head out of Anfield on a ten minute walk and try and flag a cab away from the ground.  Or walk there - not that far. (Weather dependent)

Is it easy to get there like straightforward to walk etc etc

I always drive, but if your looking to flag a taxi this is probably as easy a route as any

Im not very familiar with it so it means nothing, last time i got on a bus which stopped near the tunnel any buses go near to the stadium! Im on anfield road side on wednesday is there a route or a way from there or is it a case of follow the crowd

Will there be a bus running after ten on wednesday outside anfield?  Just the thought of walking in the dark into unknown terriotry is a bit daunting.

Isn't that how people who aren't familiar with areas manage to find their way around? Jeez. Print it out.

You'll get a cab on Everton valley or Scotland Road.

Come out of the Kop side by the Paisley gates and go right.

dont have to walk it head that way and just grab a taxi

It's really not that hard to follow that map mate. As JD said, just come out at the Kop end and turn right. Follow the road downhill and you'll come to a give-way just past a school. Keep to your left there and follow the traffic downhill until you come to the second set of traffic lights. You want to turn left there - going the way the main road bends, plus you'll see some five a side football pitchs on the other side of the road.

And then that road heads straight down to Lime St - you should see some sign posts for the Mersey Tunnels. You should get a cab a bit further down that road if you can't be bothered walking it.

its not a bad walk to be honest once it isnt raining out. And your guarunteed to have crowds of people heading that direction so plenty of people to ask if your not sure

the 17 bus or 19 bus both go to lime street

Ive found its much quicker walking much much quicker than being stuck in traffic

I walk usually but if I'm being lazy I grab a taxi sometimes.
